“Wonderful place, exquisite host”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

We wanted a quick getaway from the city and found excellent reviews about this lovely inn. Had only a couple of days to spend there, but everything we read online was exceeded by the actual experience. The location is perfect and the setup of the whole place has all the right details. We were spoiled at every step as Atilla knew it was a very special holiday for us. The breakfast includes traditional, but most of all local specialties and the dinner he prepared especially for us included some of the most delicious courses we have ever enjoyed. Don't miss the opportunity of having Atilla cook for you!!! He has also prepared a very special surprise for us the evening before we left and I am pretty sure that should we have had an extended stay, we would have fully enjoyed it. Words can't really articulate the overall experience and that will become a fact for every one that decides to try the inn. The place is suitable for couples, groups of friends, families with children - basically anyone. If you're a dog lover as well the half-labrador/half-carpathian sheperd will be the cherry on top. The only minor downside would be the fact that the walls are pretty thin and it can become noisy with more guests around. Will definitely come back and would also like to see the place during winter. Thank you, Atilla!

Room Tip: We had one of the rooms with the best view which also included a balcony. The stream crossing the pr...

This is the motto and believe of Attila, the host and us, who have experienced this transformation. We arrived rather late, it already was dawning and Shekky, the dog, barked only a little. The athmosphere was that of a fairy tale, when Attila came out to greet his new guests. The fairy-tale athmosphere was preserved by the interior of the cottage, the furbishment of the room and eventually the sleep accopmanied by the murmur of the runnel- brook passing-by the house. The breakfast next morning was a feast of all wonderful Romainan-Hungarian local specialities. The nice conversations with the host, the other guests and people who were involved with the house. We were leaving as freinds and will return as such. Ingrid & Uli

We chose this place for a Birthday celebration last year and we went back this year too! The location is excellent if you love the nature and the good service (fresh air, forest`s beauties and the sound of the river crossing by)! The staff is very friendly and proffesional and if you are looking for ideas to surprise your beloved ones ask Mr. Attila, the manager, and he will happily assist you with everything you might need and more :). The rooms are very nice decorated, traditional but modern.

Breakfast and dinner are excellent and they are accompanied by nice stories & good music in a special atmosphere in the dinning room. If it`s cold outside you can enjoy your time next to the fireplace in the living room. Red Lake Inn also has a fascinating library from where you can borrow books or games to spend your afternoon!

It has a beautiful garden, a summer restaurant where we had a Barbeque Party. You can also go to the spa where jacuzzi, sauna and one fitness facility are included.

We went bike riding (ask Attila for it) and you can also talk to him if you are interested in horse riding or travelling around. We had a wonderful trip to Praid Salt Mine and to the Red Lake.

I had no problems with wi-fi connection.
They are paying attention in every detail during your stay and I take this opportunity to thank Attila again for everything and we are looking forward to staying there again!

I have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand I really loved it - peaceful and quite large garden, little stream crossing the property, great host. On the other hand the rooms are extremely small, modest furnishings, the walls are thin. The baths are nicely done, but the hot water is barely working. It's also pretty expensive compared to other B&Bs that I had the chance to stay at in Romania. Overall we had a good experience but not sure if I would come back.

RLImanagement, Guest Relations Manager at Red Lake Inn, responded to this review, 2 July 2015
Dear Guest,
Thanks for your compliments. Rooms are standard size for the category, 16 to 24 square meters. It is a log building, walls cannot be moved easily; therefore, we cannnot enlarge the existing rooms. The price includes not only the spectacular surroundings, but also the complimentary bicycles, wellness facilities, table tennis, ball games, trampoline, etc. The upscale interior and the unique location all differentiates Red Lake Inn from other places charging less. When water pressure was low, water temperature was difficult to control. Since then, we have installed a pressure equalizer, which allows easy setting of water temperature. Please come back, and you will feel the improvements. With the great service, you might even feel that the rooms grew since your last visit.
Kind Regards,

Everything was simply perfect from the moment we stepped into the property until we checked out. At the beginning we were greeted by a lovely and very friendly dog, then we received a warm welcome from our host. We could choose our rooms 2double rooms overlooking the little river crossing the property then we discussed with the manager what to have for dinner, after a while we received a freshly cooked and simply awesome 3 course dinner. After that we spent the rest of the evening having wine at the terrace outside by candle lights. Next morning we got the best breakfast so far! We will come back for sure!

Red Lake Inn is a beautiful place to spend your vacation, with wonderful staff. The location is perfect if you want to spend a few days in a quiet place listening only to the birds and the river running by.

The rooms are small and the prices are kind of spicy.
