Swan Lake Guest House
Ranked #2 of 4 Ventnor B&B and Inns
Reviewed 18 April 2014

I chose this B and B because it is about five minutes from the Penguin Parade on Philip Island. The room was clean, light and modern and a very adequate continental breakfast is available. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone staying over to see the wildlife. There is a beautiful wetlands walk nearby where there is interesting wildlife and black swans on the lake. Friendly and very helpful hosts make this a welcome change from the usual hotels and motels available.

This lovely B&B is very close to the penguin parade and the Nobbies both places you must visit. The rooms are spacious and very clean with balconies over looking bush, Swan Lake and the ocean. We saw wallabies and a wombat while having a glass of wine at dusk. The B&B is nicely appointed with a large communal area and lots of parking. The continental breakfast was ample. Tea and coffee is available all the time. Our hosts Bernadette and Les were a font of knowledge about the area.

Ideal location for the Penguin Parade. Beautiful and modern accommodations with a view overlooking Swan Lake. From our room we had a view of the wallabies from our balcony at dusk. Bernadette was very welcoming and the ideal host providing meal recommendations and suggestions for attractions on Phillip Island. Nice breakfast and atmosphere.

Room Tip: We stayed one night in the Lake Room. Very comfortable and clean. A couple of suggestions for the ro...

One of the best experiences I've had staying at a BnB.
The property is situated in a beautiful block of land right near swan lake and it's probably the closest place you can stay to The Nobbies and Penguin Parade.
Bernadette is one of the friendliest hosts I have met and was very helpful in giving pointers on what to see/drink/eat on the Island. She even posted back an item that I forgot and left in the room when we left!
We stayed in the cygnet king room and had no issues with noise, the house is quite large and the walls are well insulated. The continental breakfast is good quality, and the views that you are treated to while you eat breakfast are amazing.

Room Tip: Cygnet King ROom

Bernadette our host was warm and made us feel at home, what she didn't know about the island and surrounds wasn't worth knowing. The B&B is isolated from the hustle and bustle of the towns on the island it is perfect set if you want to wander and take photos, Swanlake is full of swans and has hides for photographers like myself to take pics without disturbing the wildlife, the breakfast was awesome and there is a large range of places to go if you want to party, drink, surf. The room was massive, the bathroom clean with the softest towels... we will be going back again.. :)

My wife and I stayed at this lovely B&B in late February while touring Australia. The owners are very friendly and extremely accommodating. They are very knowledgeable about Phillip Island, including some beautiful coastal drives that are not listed on many maps or any tour guides that I has read. They referred us to several great restaurants and other things to see on the island. The property is beautiful and only a stone throw from the Penguin Parade and Nobbies Center. We highly recommend this B&B.

Upon arriving we were warmly greeted by Bernadette, who welcomed us into her establishment like we were family, constantly going out of her way to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. We stayed in the Cygnet room which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The location was absolutely unreal, the only house in the whole area, and so close to the penguin Parade. From our room on the bottom story of the house we had a great view from the large windows which faced the water. Bernadette served us a delicious and filling breakfast, and made many helpful suggestions and recommendations for sight seeing and dining on Phillip island. We already intend of going back, as the stay was so relaxing!!! Thank you so very much!
