We visited this lovely holiday cottage again, as we wanted a relaxing and comfortable place to stay in the week running up to our wedding nearby. This cottage certainly did not disappoint and was better than I had even remembered from our stay three years ago. The owners could not do enough to ensure that we had a lovely stay including being greeted by homemade shortbread and a bottle of wine and organising a later checkout for the morning of our wedding (without us even having to ask). The cottage is lovely, clean and has everything you could possibly need but the best thing about this place is the incredible estuary and location which we can't possibly get bored looking at. Thanks again for a lovely stay and we can't wait to return in the future.
Just returned from a lovely weeks’ stay at Waters Edge .The cottage is very comfortable, clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. The location on the bank of the Cleddau estuary is fabulous with stunning views of the river from the house. The children loved pottering about on the foreshore, a short walk away along a grassy path. The pretty garden has a summerhouse packed with games and the patio is a lovely spot for al fresco dining. The owners strike the perfect balance between being unobtrusive yet available if needed and if you are looking for privacy, peace and tranquillity yet be within easy reach of the gorgeous coastline then I would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
An immaculate barn conversion with views across the estuary and a short walk down to the pebble beach - a great place to take in the sunset. If you're into boats, you can launch just down the road at Landshipping and explore the unspoiled estuary. If you like the natural world, it's stunning. And Nigel and Judy really are outstanding hosts.
We've not found anywhere better and keep going back!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage - very clean on arrival with welcome treats left for us and for the dog! Bedrooms very nice and kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need. Homely feel and lots of books. Best thing about it is the location and the wonderful views over the sweeping estuary and the short walk down to the shore and the lovely peace and quiet. Enjoyed watching the tide movements and spotting the birds. Loved the folding doors out to the patio and enclosed garden very dog friendly. Lots of places to visit a short drive away - we went to Tenby, Newgale Beach and Solva and particularly enjoyed Bosherston Lily Ponds and walk around Marloes Peninsula. Would definetely recommend.
Waters Edge provides a perfect retreat from the hectic world. Judy and Nigel are ideal hosts; welcoming yet not intrusive. They were happy to help with our general enquiries and also got the Sunday papers for us so we could enjoy them leisurely sitting under the veranda taking in the most amazing atmosphere. The wine and homemade shortbread on arrival were a super touch The house is described well, and has everything you could need, with a lovely private garden, but most amazingly the most beautiful location with a wonderful tidal river, great wildlife and direct access to the shore. If you can pull yourself away from the house, there are beautiful beaches and countryside nearby with a good smattering of historic sites, tourist attractions and great food producers. Could not recommend more highly . We will be back. Thank you Judy and Nigel.
Having stayed in Waters Edge cottage 4 years go I vowed I would return. I have stayed in many cottages over the years in various locations but if your looking for an exceptional cottage in an exceptional location this is the one. It certainly lives upto it's 5* rating with everything you could possibly wish for provided. The decoration, attention to detail, furnishings, bedding are all exceptional together with the beautiful garden overlooking an estuary with outside seating areas, BBQ & lots of outdoor activities for children stored in the garden shed. Allowing a dog to stay is a bonus, dog bowls & treats supplied! The owners who live next door are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is in a very quiet rural hamlet, perfect if you want a retreat or a get away from the hustle & bustle of life. I cannot praise Waters Edge & it's owners highly enough.
This was our second visit to Waters Edge, definitely the best cottage we have stayed in. It is equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need, including welcoming bottles of wine and delicious homemade shortbread. It has a small pretty garden to sit in with a fabulous view looking out across fields to a beautiful estuary and lovely sunsets. If you want a quiet and relaxing location, away from it all, this is the place.
