A wonderful roomy cottage, comfortably furnished and well equipped to a high standard with a lovely welcome pack on our arrival. Within easy walking distance of beautiful beaches and a couple of very convenient pubs with really good food, we couldn't have wished for more! You can also easily access other historic and beautiful sights in the area. If you don't want to walk or drive, there is a very good bus service right on the doorstep. I would highly recommend Leaholme to anyone wanting to visit this beautiful part of the country.
We have stayed in this cottage many times, and always book well in advance to make sure we don't miss out. Spotlessly clean, lovely welcome basket of goodies, and bags of space. The garden is perfect for sitting out to eat or enjoy an evening glass of wine in the peace and quiet. The pub over the road does fantastic food, and the walks along the beach are to die for. A great location for getting around Northumberland. Highly recommended, and see you again soon!
We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful cottage. The cottage is spacious,
beautifully presented and only a short walk to a fantastic beach and two amazing pubs - what more could you want! Would highly recommend and look forward to returning soon.
We walked the wonderful coastal path (just minutes away and you can get the bus back!). We managed to walk to the excellent pub (one minute?), and there's another one down in Lower Newton. Howick Hall garden is stunning.
This was our 3rd time at Leaholme and once again, it didn't disappoint. The house is immaculate and beautifully presented. A new patio had been laid since our last visit which proved perfect for our friend's young children who visited for the day. The location is also perfect being a short walk to 3 great beaches as well as The Ship pub (fab for lunch after a lovely walk along the beach) and also the Joiners Inn which is straight opposite the house and serves delicious food. Owners Lynn & Pete are super friendly and very helpful. We've booked again to go for a long weekend in June and November and we're hoping to book in May next year as we're guests at a wedding at Newton Hall, 2 mins away from the cottage.
We have enjoyed staying at Leaholme as a family of 4 and in a larger group. The cottage (4 bedroom house!) is big enough for 2 families with dogs and every room is comfortable, beautifully decorated with loads of local artwork, which we loved!
The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and the nearby pub, the nearby Joiners Arms had fab food and local ales etc. We have also enjoyed a pint and lunch at The Ship down by the beach.
The kids enjoyed the DVDs, toys and (dare I say it!) the X-Box!
The real attraction is the fantastic Northumberland beaches and coastline. Low-Newton is walkable from the cottage but there are a number of other lovely walks to coves and a local bus service to neighbouring villages.
We have just had a family holiday at Leaholme Cottage this week, and we LOVED it. The cottage itself is beautiful, spacious and very homely, with everything you need. Location is fab with a short walk to the beach just behind, which was very peaceful and quiet that you felt like it was your own beach at times! Would highly recommend staying with Leaholme Cottages. The owners are lovely and very helpful and I am looking forward to booking my next stay!
