Rooms warm and clean. Could do with modernising a wee bit. Pub serves great selection of beers and wine. Nice local feel and staff very friendly and helpful. 2 other pubs in village but not a patch on the leather bottle. Menu in restaurant probably a bit ambitious as offering too much. Suggesion would be to have half a dozen items for each course, three of which are the daily specials. The vegetables were overcooked unfortunately which is quite a common mistake in pubs.

As a party of 4 adults and 2 Children we enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay. The Staff were very friendly and effiecient, and the food was to a high standard, and excellent value. This is a unique
establishment that has an abundance of old world charm. We will return again next year.

Room Tip: The Rooms we occupied No's 2 & 6 were very comfortable

This is a lovely old traditional hotel, restaurant and bar. Chose the location as it is opposite the beautiful church where my parents are buried in the graveyard. Food was unbelievably good - wonderful steak, room was a bit basic but very comfortable. Only criticism was that there was no hot water from the sink tap and the shower was more of a dribble than a shower!

I stayed with a mate at the Leather Bottle in August, our main reason for booking at the Leather Bottle was that it isn't to far from the Brands Hatch circuit and that it's has a nice pub with plenty of parkingspace for a van and trailer.
We were not dissapointed in any of the above. The staff of the LB is friendly and because we had to leave early in the morning they prepaired a breakfast of take away breadrolls (plenty of fillings to chose from) The room we stayed in (front room located opposite to village church) had loads of character, but it might be a bit to much character if you want to stay with you girlfriend for a romantic weekend. The windowcurtains need replacing as they are to small to seal the windows properly The pub serves a nice selections of ales, the beer garden is spacious and busy. (we did not test the food as we went to Chatham for a curry instead) There are two more pubs in the village so you can even do a pub crawl.

We loved The Leather Bottle. It is quaint and totally charming. We loved the spacious room we stayed in. The four poster bed was comfy and warm and overall the room was very good value. The new chef provided a gluten free menu so this was my first worry free holiday in ten years - imagine gluten free fish and chips!! This hotel is lovely, set in a peaceful, chocolate box village with some lovely places to walk. We got to see where Charles Dickens wrote 'The Pickwick Papers' and they have amazinng memorabilia. The owners, the manager and the staff were fantastic - nothing was too much trouble. When we had to wait for a taxi Brian, one of the owners, took us to the station himself. We've been looking for a lovely bolthole to escape London on a regular basis and this week we found it. We can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back of the hotel are probably quieter.

We stayed for two nights whilst attended the bike races at Brans Hatch. The hotel was beautiful and very Dickensian. Very clean throughout. We ate an evening meal and two full english breakfasts and all was excellant and served by very friendly staff. On our final evening we drank in the bar and were entertained and welcomed by the owner Brian and a few of the local villagers, it was very enjoyable and a lot of fun. I would greatly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit this beautiful picturesque area. Any issues that we experienced throughout our stay were dealt with efficiently and courteously. Thank you for making our stay so good.

We stayed for one night and paid £90 for bed and breakfast in the four poster room.
Our positive points are as follows.
Pretty looking village and the pub is in a nice location with a well kept garden, plenty of parking and easy to find.
Swift check in with no card swiping required or paperwork to complete. We were given all the information we needed to let ourselves back in after hours and times for breakfast etc.
Our room was at the back of the pub overlooking the gardens and car park and not unduly noisy.
The bed was comfortable and the room had a good tv.
We enjoyed our full English breakfast.
Here are the negative points.
Unpleasant smell as you enter the pub from the rear door from the car park (possibly from the toilets.)
Our room felt cold when we entered it and the bathroom even more so. The heating did come on at times but it still felt cold when we came back late and got up in the morning.
The bed had clean sheets and the bathroom was okay but many other areas of the room were not. The skirting boards were grubby with some tea/coffee stains near the kettle and the trouser press was thick with dust. The damp patch with peeling wallpaper was just a previous reviewer has mentioned and our family members who stayed in the room next door said that their room was no better and that the fire alarm had fallen on the floor.
The general standard of the carpet, curtains and armchairs was shabby but not in a charming way to compliment the age of the property.
The bathroom fittings were basic and the shower water pressure sporadic.

We wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.
