They kept all of the fee of £660 for a 10 day stay period even though I canceled by phone and email. I have appealed to the management but no luck I was told by the owner they have got a business to run! Look for the terms and conditions on the web site, if you can find them your lucky. But there aren't any

I booked a room for 3 nights and stayed for just 1 as they did not have anyone available to cook breakfast; as their own website clearly states that a full English breakfast is available for an extra charge that is what I expected, instead I was told the pub down the road served breakfast from 0800 which was too late and their reviews were poor. Had breakfast been available it would have been from 0900! I stay away most weeks and never in my life have I known breakfast to be served from 0900.
Although the room its self was OK the saucers were grubby and one of the teaspoons was sticky, oh and all the pots of cream (no milk available) and coffees were out of date; also the corridor outside smelled like a sewer.
The food was fine but I tried two of the three real ales on offer and they were both cloudy and tasted off, I had to force the first pint down hoping the second would be better, it wasn’t.
Needless to say I will not be staying there again.

Room Tip: The only access to the rooms is from a wooden fire escape outside.

We stayed at this pub recently as we were going to a party nearby. The landlord greeted us and was friendly. The pub looks as if it is getting a lick of paint here and there but it is difficult to see what has been done as some of the doors were half painted. There is quite a big car park at the rear and a couple of little tables with some plants but it can't really be described as a beer garden as such as it is in the car park and backs onto the kitchen. There are only three bedrooms which can be accessed via a staircase at the back of the pub. You can gain entry to the rooms without having to go through the pub. Our room was quite nicely decorated and light having the benefit of front and side windows and a window in the bathroom. Coffee and tea were on offer and soap and shower gel was provided. Lots of storage space was available. Silly niggles - when I called to book the room I was told it was a twin so asked if we could have a double. I was told the beds would be put together - they hadn't been. No huge problem but as I say - a niggle. There had obviously been a leak in the ceiling which hadn't been attended to so there was a brown patch clearly visible. In the small shower room the toilet roll holder had been moved and the holes had been filled but no attempt to sand down or paint over was made - shame. There was a little vase of white roses on the table which was a nice touch and also some chocolates. As I said earlier there are only 3 rooms - I can't quite see why we had our door knocked on at 9am and the door was unlocked by the cleaner - she seemed quite surprised we were in there. She apologised and closed the door. We got up at 9.30 and showered and were just packing our things when the cleaner knocked again - just before 10 - we said at this point that we were just leaving. She did say that of course it would be fine to go down and have our breakfast. There was no mention of the serving times for breakfast shown anywhere but on the website it clearly says continental breakfast. When we got down to the bar the landlord said good morning but there was no mention of any breakfast and as far as I could see there were no tables laid up at all for any breakfast provision. I asked if we could have a cup of coffee which I have to say was slightly grudgingly prepared. It was a tasty coffee in a cafetiere and I did wonder whether the landlord was going to ask for us to pay for the coffee but he didn't, which was just as well really. The room was £60 per night and did advertise a continental breakfast.
