We were out and about wondering where to stop for lunch when we went past the Estate and decided to ring and see if there was an available table for the two of us - and there was!
We stopped in to the cellar door first and had a delightful chat with Kate about the wines. The wines are very good and we absolutely loved the sparkling wine - happy to take a selection home with us.
On to our lunch - what a superb restaurant and stunning location. We were tossing up what to have and decided on this occasion to have the chicken in buttermilk as a starter and the squid.... both were fab. Presentation was excellent. Then had the fillet beef sandwich - wow - what a sandwich! Good size meals - very filling. Dessert was a special on the day - deconstructed cheesecake with a ginger crumble base and goats milk sorbet - with candied beetroot! everything was really lovely and tasty - very glad we popped in 'on the spur of the moment' !
