Ocean View Estates Winery and Restaurant is evolving into very special classy destination for our very beautiful Dayboro/Mount Mee/ Ocean View area. On our last visit we were impressed by the stunning setting, pleasant service, and delicious but complex food. The waiter put us at ease immediately, was authentic and knowledgeable, and made us laugh (just about the full maitre d' job description really) OVE has just stepped up to Jacques Reymond, The Lane Winery, Cliveden House, and 1885 at the E&O. Not name dropping, just haven't been to many posh places. We booked and pre-ordered our 6 course degustation 24 hours prior in order to make things easier for the chef. Tony Tierney, the chef at OVE always comes out to chat with guests. Every course was appreciated. Standouts were the complex sauces, the honey and honeycomb from OVE's own hives, and magnificent bravery of the Black Onys tri tip which most restaurants will not attempt. It was perfect. The wines went very well with each course which is also very brave and clever considering the local environment and climate.
