I was travelling over Ancona to Patras so I slept over in this Hotel. It was really clean and the spot was amazing. The personel was nice, but not all spoke English so we had some trouble to communicate. The breakfast was not bad, but I would had expected more. Overall I think it was OK and the Price vs. Service was more then adequate.

although the view and location are stunning the food was way less than expected
after spending 3 days in Tuscany. the front desk lady was helpful but the restaurant
was filled with children running around making noises and misbehaved.
Chicken was boneless skinless chicken breasts more like a diner than a fine dining restaurant,
was also sad that there were sulfates in the wine which we have come to enjoy not having any in most of Europe. Room is OK but furnished more like from IKEA rather than a 4 star hotel.

Hotel Emilia is situated 2 km from the 'center' (= a beach with a few restaurants , a parking and a few hotels) of beautiful Portonovo , in the heights of the 'parco del conero'. From the hotel one has a fantastic view over the seaside and the small beaches. A car is needed to go from the hotel to the seaside (there's a busstop in front of the hotel- very sinuous roads everywhere ).
The hotel has a marvelous , very long (and deep) swimming pool.
We had a renewed room with seaview. The room was rather small with nice modern design and was completely white. No small reading lamps on the bedside table. Reading a book while your travel companion is asleep, is impossible as there are only strong lamps illuminating the whole room. The bed pillows are terrible (i really hope the owners read tis and do something about it!
). The bathroom is small, but comfortable. Good shower. No paper tissues. The hairdryer is worthless and .... full of dust ! The isolation of the rooms is bad.
Breakfast is very good (except the bread, which is awful) and varied. Fresh orange juice on request. We tried dinner in the hotel. Rather sofisticated and ok, also expensive. The food in the restaurants on the beach (especially the one in the middle) is better. Breakfast or dinner on the terrace of the hotel is idyllic. But the living room is rather charmless.
The staff of the hotel in general is very friendly and helpful.
In general : very nice hotel (i would come back) with some obvious imperfections. Only to visit when the weather is nice -but this applies to the whole parco del conero region .

Room Tip: sea view is worth it - ask for renovated rooms (these are the more expensive ones)

We stayed for 10 days at Hotel Emilia (from 6th Sept 2013). We have come to this area over many years and stayed in many hotels of variable quality. This one is in our top 3 along the coast from Portonovo to Porto Recanati.
It's in a peaceful spot overlooking the sparkling Adriatic, with lawns stretching around the hotel, a lovely swimming pool, and gazebo for pool drinks. The restaurant is excellent (we invited some friends to lunch and they were very welcome), and the rooms are of a good standard and clean (more spacious than the usual Italian seaside hotel).
Staff are friendly and helpful. Only minor downside, is that the rooms are not very well sound-proofed but was only a minor consideration (we had good neighbours!).
You will need a hire care as this is out of town, but there is plenty to see and as the grounds are spacious, parking is no problem. Also to note, that the nearest beach is nearby but only reachable with a car or by taking the nearby shuttle bus that stops running at 7.30pm.
We are definately coming back for our next trip to the area.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet due to location. One of us had sea view and one did not - clearly seaview is lov...

This is quite a contemporary looking hotel that seems to have many parties/social events in the restaurant and on the grounds. The first night we were given a rather dreary room with no view and little space as the hotel was full. We moved to an upper level room for the second and third night at a significant increase in cost. However the view to the Adriatic Sea was very lovely although we lost the hotel internet in the room. Most of the employees were very friendly and helpful, including remembering what we ordered to drink at the bar and for breakfast. I would stay again and if you like ocean views it cannot be beat for the area. It is away from Ancona skyline and pollution, and although close to Sirolo and Numana which is more touristy, the Hotel Emilia is private. It was too cold to use the pool but it also looked lovely.

This hotel is in a lovely setting with great views. On booking we requested a double bed and arrived to have 2 single beds pushed together. We also requested a nice bottle of Prosecco on arrival as it was a special weekend. We arrived to find a vile tasting small bottle of Spumante which we were charged 10€ for! This hotel didn't have the basics to be eligble to call themselves even 3 star, No Minibar, No roomservice menu, Internet so bad that we had to stand in the doorway just to be able to use it, A Tv so small that it made your Laptop screen look big. The hotel also negleted to tell us that there was going to be a wedding on the saturday night. On this afternoon we asked to see a menu for some snacks in our room and were greeted with an attitude that this is too much effort for them and that we were of inconvienence to them. When paying the room bill and feeling totaly unsatisfied about parting with so much money for such bad service I was greeted with a rude receptionist which was the final straw for me to share my experience. This hotel has a lot to improve on so that they can justify charging 5 star prices in excess of 200€ a night.

Dear Tim_Vee_84,

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience in our Hotel. Hotel Emilia is known since many years for its beauty and its relaxing atmosphere and for that reason I would like to invite you back to our Hotel to show you its strengths and its good particularities.

I would like to give you a phrase that was written by one of our customers into the Hotel Emilia diary:

“Again, it was a very pleasant stay, one of the most beautiful Hotels.
I know.
The views are perfect, also are the rooms.
And the atmosphere is sort of mysterious and clear we enjoyed it very much
Thanks a lot”

Hope you would accept my invite.

Best Regards,

Raffaella

One of the most beautiful views I've ever had from a Hotel room. In addition to that: The room was excellent, the service good and the breakfast aligned with the Hotel standard. If you ask for a ground floor room, you can enjoy waking up, opening the door on the garden garden overlooking Portonovo, and walking on the grass in the cool summer morning...
