We stayed just one night while having a short break of "top down" driving through the Lake District. This is a "country house" hotel. Excellent staff, lovely food, very comfortable accommodation. Very high attention to detail. We couldn't find fault.
Highly recommended.

We stayed at Swinside Lodge Hotel last night for a relaxed retreat, which was the perfect end to my husbands Birthday celebrations. The owner and staff couldn't have been more polite, attentive and helpful. Lovely people. The accommodation and food was superb! It was a real treat and we are looking forward to our next trip already... we'll definitely aim to make it a long weekend next time so that we can enjoy the beautiful surrounding area. Swinside Lodge is perfect for walking and / or relaxing. There's a pub only 400 metres away, with a large beer garden... perfect for a relaxed afternoon. Also there are a number of walks, with Catbells only a stones through away and Keswick only a short distance. Thank you all so much, we had wonderful time x

If you want to be looked after this is the place!
Stayed with my Husband in April, really nice location nice for walking, whether you want to do the hills and be daring or a little more flat!....First impressions maybe middle of nowhere and a little quiet, yet the location allows you to unwind. Friendly staff and fantastic food! We thought we go looked after here! Nothing was too much trouble. Definately recommend its not just a small hotel your made to feel so at home :-) Thank You Danielle and Clint Waddington

We wanted to escape to somewhere quiet, in the Lakes, with easy access to walking and excellent food. We found this gem on line. It exceeded our expectations. Wonderful reception, comfortable accommodation and first class menus for four nights. Nothing too much trouble. Great attention to detail a brilliant break. Our thanks to the whole team for making our stay so memorable.
