Villa Cheta is one of the most peaceful, romantic hotels I have ever stayed at. It sits on the stunning corner of Maratea, Acquafredda to be exact which has the most magnificent, dramtatic views of the sea. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful mountains and a garden of blooming flowers. It has a choice of patios where you can sit and read and soak up the views. They have an outstanding restaurant, their food is by far the best on the coast of Maratea. The owners Stefania and Piero were amazing and Maria, the woman at the front desk was so kind in suggesting where to go and what to do in the area. I will definetly be back to visit and stay for one week to explore the area and enjoy more food and wine at Villa Cheta.

We had a great holiday at Villa Cheta. Since we entered the building we had the pleasant feeling that everyone that worked there shared a love and a passion for curing the place. We particularly appreciate the nice and friendly atmosphere melted to the elegant style of the villa. Outside the garden is rich of flowers of many colors and scent. Inside the decoration: fornitures, lamps, paints have been chosen with attention for every detail. Our room was large, spotless and very comfortable. The dinner was served on the top terrace with a beautiful view over the cost and the see. During our stay we had no problems with mosquitos. On the rainy nights we enjoyed the dinner in the internal dinning room that is decorated with sophisticated liberty stile chandeliers. Every night we had a rich four course dinner the choice of either fish or meet and outstanding desserts. When eating our meals we appreciated the quality of the ingredients and the great cure that the chef had preparing them. The staff made our stay even more delightful kindly sharing their experience on the best beaches to explore and the touristic attractions in the near by Maratea. The combination of all these qualities resulted in a very relaxing holiday and surely one of the best we have had and we will not hesitate in going back again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 41, very comfortable for 3 people. The room is on the first floor, faces the garden and partially the see.

We have stayed at this hotel around 6 times and the marvellous thing is that it just gets better and better. The setting is of course magnificent, with mountains around and the sea before you. The hotel building is elegant, a Liberty building with discreet additions that maintain the character of the original building. The service is attentive discreet unobtrusive. Reception can answer and queries and is ready with good advice about the local area. This year we felt the food, always very good, had moved into the excellent category. The outdoor dining is perfect and is truly romantic, on a terrace to the side of the hotel, with views of seascape, twilight, sunset and moonlight. The choice is limited but we never had any difficulty finding what we liked. There is no pool but the nearby beach, accessible by lift from the hotel above the beach if you purchase a voucher from reception is in a charming bay, but even better to take a 20 minute trip to La Secca, a beautifully appointed beach and picnic complex.

We have just returned once again from a superb stay at Villa Cheta and once again absolutely everything was spot on. Everyone at the hotel are extra special and work very hard to make your stay a memorable one. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, the food is exceedingly good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Another lovely touch were the in-room toiletries which Stefainia has developed - which were so lovely that we didn't want to use our own. We visit Villa Cheta every year and always repeat the same views, as there is really nothing at all to complain or be negative about. Looking forward to our next visit in September.

Room Tip: From our pevious visits to Villa Cheta I would suggest that any room is good to stay in

Beautiful villa overlooking lush gardens and the sea. Rooms are elegantly appointed with embroidered linen and antique furniture. Cuisine was best of entire 20 day trip! They offer a 4-course prix-fixe dinner (half board) that is outrageous! Appetizer, pasta, entree, desert. It was actually too much for us, and we discovered we could have opted for a two course meal- but didn't want to miss any of the fabulous dishes.
Parking is tight, but the owner greets you as you pull up and offers to park for you. No hotel in Italy had window screens, so opening the windows at night was not an option with the mosquitoes. But the A/C worked great.
It was the most relaxing stay of our trip, We were well rested, well fed, and near enough to local sights. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Rooms on second floor facing patio, gardens and sea are spectacular!
