Cagbalete Island is about 3 to 3.5 hours drive from Manila and an hour boat ride from Mauban, Quezon. The island has few resorts and we stayed at Dona Choleng. We chose their aircon room for the weather lately is really hot. We know for a fact that generators ran from 6pm to 6am only. We didn't mind for we wanted a more private room with a bathroom. We were surprised to find out that the room doesn't have its own bathroom. We are sharing the same cr with the occupants of the attic room. Anyway, the situation could have been better if we were advised before hand. Anyway, the owner Mr. Rey Manaog is kind enough to offer us one of the public CRs (located at the back of the villa) for our exclusive use. We didn't want to spoil our vacation therefore we rest our case.
The island is really nice! White sand beach (but not Boracay white sand), clear water and not crowded shoreline! The resort had an activity during our stay. They had fireworks at night and fire dancers. We love the fresh catched tuna fish served to us. They also have TESDA licensed therapist to give you a good massage at night.
Overall, we loved our stay at Dona Choleng, Cagbalete Island.
