“Easily the best hotel in this area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2014

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was lovely and quiet. Down a quiet soi, close to the beach. We walked to the beach-front in about 7 mins, but the Beach Village has bikes to rent for free, or you can rent a scooter for 250THB a day. Walking around the area, I was glad we chose this hotel.
Breakfast didn't offer a huge variety but was satisfying with real coffee. We ate both evening meals here after the 'buy one, get one free' cocktail hour between 5-6pm. Service was slow, but there was only one person serving, and one in the kitchen, both working very hard. Appetisers and mains came out together (grrr..) and as the appetisers seemed to be waiting for the main course, as they were cold when served.
We stayed in the superior one bedroom suite which was large, nicely decorated with great sized fridge and tea/cofee facilities (no kitchenette as adverstised on Agoda, unless they class a fridge and a kettle as a kitchenette) Even better if: they provided pool towels in the room and a safe.
The pool area was right outside your door and each pool has around 8 suites around it. Only two sun loungers are provided though (with some plastic chairs) so if all suites were full, some arguments could ensue. Yes there is a roof terrace, but it's bare! Disappointing.
We would definitely stay here again for a bit of relaxation in an unspoilt area.

What a hidden gem, set in coconut groves, where trees have only been removed where necessary. 500m from a quiet 5km beach, and with some amazing mountain backdrop to watch sunset. The staff are really friendly and all the villas are beautifully appointed. If you're looking for a quiet getaway then this will be the ideal place. For any nature lovers, there are some wonderful colourful birds, squirrels and geckos right on the doorstep, or head to the national park to see monkeys and dolphins

We stayed for one week and enjoyed the beautiful and well-kept surroundings. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good quality. When we arrived we had to air the room since it had a very damp smell. The bathroom was full of mosquitos

To be fair, my average review is based on the fact that this place is not the kind of place I usually seek. I prefer to be more centrally located to things to do and see. But I had this place booked for me by the couple we were traveling with, so this time, I was along for the ride.

The studios are very nice, clean, sparse but homey feel, almost like you are staying at a friend's apartment. The grounds are beautifully kept up. It is REALLY far away from most things, which might be what you want. Luckily, the free loaner bikes were available most of the times we needed them.

I have to say, Mr. O, the site manager, is really amazing. We arrived in the middle of the night, from a very long bus ride from Siem Reap, and we were starving. Because we didn't know the lay of the land, we figured we could get our room, and go out to night market. But this place is very isolated in a small beach town, so there was no option for food after dinner time. Luckily, Mr. O was sympathetic, and whipped up an amazing green onion omelette served with steamed rice and a plate of cashews. The next day, he helped us with sights to see, and pointed us to really amazing local places to eat (20 Baht bowl of noodles? Yes please) So again, great thanks to you Mr. O.

Aside form the midnight omelette, I can't comment on the resort's food, since we went in search of local fare every meal.

If you are looking for a clean, quiet, relaxing place to get away from everything, then this is the place for you.

Pros:

-Mr. O
-Small beach community is very charming, the beach is 300m from the resort
-Free bike loaner
-On site scooter rental
-Somewhat close to beautiful caves and temples
-Retirement resort-like atmosphere

Cons:

-Retirement resort-like atmosphere
-Location, it's far...really far.
-No nearby night life

This is a hidden gem for travelers who prefer to stay in a relaxing and quiet environment. There are 7 condos surrounding a sparkling plunge pool. The management was very attentive, and the condo's were kept very clean. One girl had a small fall and the manager personally took her to the hospital after the incident and also for the next day follow up (she was fine). Food at the restaurant was very good, with staff very friendly and accommodating of special requests. Don't miss the daily happy hour at 5pm with 2 for 1 specials. The Beach Village is a great place for families and couples who are looking to get away from it all. The area around the resort is mostly rural, with clean air and friendly people. We are looking forward to returning again soon.
