We stayed here for 10 days in a 6-bedroom villa, and loved every day. Booking through the hotel website was super easy, and the pickup from Bangkok airport went smoothly. The hotel location is good, - close to the beach with a beautiful view, but further away from "everything" than we thought beforehand. The hotel personell were more than happy to help with arranging transport to wherever we wanted to go though. If anything was a little dissapointing, it would have to be the breakfast. Selection of food, food preservation throughout breakfast hours, and coffee could all use some improvement.

Our villa was great. Sparcely furnished, but clean and lots of space. Really nice with one bathroom for each bedroom, - a rarity in a hotels of this price category. But the most amazing feature was the private outdoor area, with sunbeds, private pool, table & chairs. Both kids and adults loved spending the evenings here.

Public areas were also great. Two great pools, one for the kids (with a very popular slide), and more than enough sunbeds. There was also an outside playground, but our kids basically spent all their outdoor time at the pool. The indoor kids room was also used to relax and watch movies, and it was also renovated during our stay.

We read alot of mediocre reviews about food & service in the restaurant, and while nothing blew us away, most of the dishes we had were good, and not as expensive as some would have it. Restaurant staff were very forthcoming, and we always received good service (we actually feel that service improved during our stay!) A couple of times orders got mixed up, but this is mainly due to language challenges, so this will undoubtfully improve with time. And it's so nice to see the staff playing with our kids, making sure they have a good time. When kids enjoy themselves, so do parents.

We also read that the french owners only greet other french guests ... Nothing could be further from the truth. We were invited on a free trip to monkey island by the owner, and we really appreciated this gesture. Tip! Hide your bananas :-) Owners also gave us tips on our journey further, and invited us to their bistro in Bangkok.

Our daughter cut her foot during our stay, and the minimart manager Ant took excellent care of her, changing her bandages daily. So appreciated!

We would to thank the owners and Ooy, Pu, Tia, Nut, Ant, Gift, Fern and everyone else we forgot the name of (we appreciated you too!)

Hope we get the chance to come back!

Definitely recommended to families with kids who want a relaxed environment with no stress :-)

Room Tip: If you travel as a large family or large group, the 3-bedroom villa with private pool is an excellen...

Kids love this hotel, no doubt! Two big swimming pools (one with the slide), a big garden designed as a playground, kids tv. and play room...
We've been to Dolphin Bay Resort 2 times for 2 nights stay at each. If you're not looking for a luxury stay, it's clean enough and well organized. You may enjoy the peaceful area when your kids are playing and swimming independently.
When you cross the small street you reach to the beach. Even the see is not so attractive for swimming, having a walk on the beach is quite relaxing. If you have chance, you might have romantic walk on the beach while it's raining. It rains quite often at this area.
In terms of food, don't expect too much! Short menu, basic choices. Unfortunately breakfast is a big disappointment. The hotel should enrich the breakfast.
It's a peaceful environment. For a short holiday, I could recommend Dolphin Bay without any doubt.

Room Tip: Bungalow - between the numbers 1-6, to be close to the pool and the see as well

I stayed at the resort 4 nights with my friend and her daughter ( 8 years).
We really enjoyed to stay in this resort. The accommodation is simple but there are all facilities inside. There are two large pools of different depths and one pool with funny slide.
The beach is across the road and we can walk along the sea or take a boat to go to the monkey beach.
The food is good and with a large choice of dishes, we can eat Thai food or pizza. The breakfast offers enough choice and everything is made for children to be autonomous.
The staff is attentive and helpful.
I recommend this nice resort.

We stayed at the resort for 4 nights; 2 adults/3 kids 10 and under. The resort is an excellent value but it is a three star hotel, so don't expect the Hilton. The grounds are simple but well tended, the salt water pools are clean and in good repair, the beach is steps away by crossing a sleepy street, the outside play equipment is in good repair, there are plenty of sun lounges. We rented a two bedroom suite. The room was exceptionally clean, the tv's new and of good screen size, AC worked great, kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with plastic plates, utensils and cups, with new window blinds and fresh paint. There wasn't much furniture in the bedrooms, only a bed and a nightstand; a bit spartan but could be considered modern(?) Reception service was fast, efficient and well coordinated. We rented Vespa scooters and organized a boat trip to Monkey Island through the resort. It was all handled very well. I was disappointed by the beach. It is murky and so shallow the water becomes quite hot- not warm, hot! Also the resort food was really poor. Chicken nuggets and french fries were pretty good. Pizza was like cardboard (but the cheese was good) and the adult food was not worth the effort of eating. There are restaurants within walking distance (700 meters) that are far better and they serve fried chicken/french fries to appease the children. Alfresco's was a good one; we had lamb shank, nachos, pork ribs and hamburgers from there. All very good. I would really recommend renting scooters to get out to explore. The roads are easy and there's very little traffic. Overall, if the beach were better, I would go to Dolphin Bay every holiday we have, but it's just not a great beach. :(

Room Tip: In some rooms, the AC unit temperature is not variable. It's either on or off. Ask to make sur...

This is a resort aimed at families with small children. There are two large pools, one with a slide, a play structure, a play room, and other toys scattered around the grounds. We are an older couple that come for long walks along the flat deserted beach. We have been twice, once about 5 years ago and this year. We have rented a bungalow both times away from the pool area, and have been generally satisfied with the quality of the room for the price charged, other than the beds which are not the most comfortable.
We had mostly very good meals at the restaurant. Our favorites were the snapper fillet in a lemon sauce and a mustard sauce, fish and chips, margarita pizza. Not as good were the Greek salad and a pork laab that was ordered very spicy and came not spicy at all. There were plenty of staff at the restaurant and we always received good friendly service. We didn't find the restaurant chairs all that comfortable. Prices were reasonable considering the quality of food, service, and the pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was rather limited if you didn't eat eggs.
There are many other restaurants near by it you wanted a change. We frequented one to the left (facing the water) and down a small side street which had less expensive prices, and more comfortable plastic chairs.
We also found the sun loungers to be not that comfortable for sitting up and reading for long periods. Maybe we're just getting old. The hotel organized a taxi back to Hua Hin for us for a reasonable 700 baht.
All in all I think this hotel offers reasonable value for the price charged, and if you have small children I think you will like it very much.

1 pool for kids, the othe for everybody else.
Clean. Good service.
Right by the beach, which is quite and calm.
can take a fisherman boat to fish / feed the monkeys on the near island (10 minutes ride. Was fun) / Visit the fishermans village.
You can also go to the national park with is quite close.
