A one night stay and it was excellent. A lovely welcome with tea and home made cake, a beautiful room with a very comfortable four-poster bed and a really superb breakfast. Just a minor quibble - the shower was definitely not a power shower!

Sue and Will were so welcoming, tea on arrival, good sized room, clean linen etc. plenty of space for the pair of us and the dog. Off road parking.

Close proximity to Lincoln and Newark

The breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and generous.

Pub just down the road can offer a reasonable and well priced dinner

Will be back, everything you want in a B&B at this good price.

We were welcomed with a pot of tea and homemade cake by the very friendly owners. The room was light, airy, spotlessly clean and warm. Breakfast was amazing. We would certainly recommend Wilmot House to other travellers and look forward to staying again should we be in the area.

Sue and Bill are excellent hosts and cannot do enough to make their guests feel at home. The house is spotlessly clean and has everything one might need for a one-night or longer stay. Inevitably an old house has its quirks so beware of low doors and the bedroom floor that slopes at a considerable gradient (in room 1, at least). Also not all rooms have room to install en suite facilities but this was made clear when booking and the price reflects that.

Breakfasts were splendid and the tin of cake awaiting our return every afternoon was an unexpected bonus!

The house is easy to find, provided you drive slowly through Dunham-on-Trent (and everyone should do that, given the narrow and winding main road). The White Swan, on the next corner, is as far as you need to go for an excellent, very reasonably priced evening meal. Sue and Bill will be happy to recommend other local eating places.

As far as the location is concerned, it is easy to reach Lincoln, Newark, Southwell, Worksop, Sherwood Forest and many other interesting places in half an hour or less and the A1 is only a few minutes distant. Again, Sue and Bill will not need asking twice to provide recommendations for places to visit.

Lovely Victorian house with all the character that you would expect. Very warm welcome from Sue and Bill who immediately offered tea and cake - a delight for the weary traveller.
I stayed in the "Four Poster" room and found it charming. The bed was extremely comfortable and, although a light sleeper and the house being close to the road, I was out for the count in minutes. Excellent breakfast, free wi-fi and ample off road parking added to a great experience. Hosts were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Overall one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in.

Room Tip: If travelling from the south, beware of satnav making you turn left too early into a dead end. The left after that is the one you want then turn immediately left into the driveway of the property. If booking via Laterooms.com payment is not taken via the website
