We have just been so impressed with our stay at the Parrot Tree Resort! We absolutely would come back to stay here again. It has everything you need to have a great relaxing vacation. Our suite was right on the large sandy beach just steps from the lagoon. We love to be close to the beach - so this was such a perfect spot. If you want the pool experience...it was just steps away - and beautiful. The suite was beautiful...beautifully furnished, lots of storage room for all of your things. The kitchen was well equipped...and was great for making some of our own meals if we didn't choose to go out. Be sure to stop at the grocery store just near the Petro Sun Gas Station...just a few minutes down the road - Its just like your grocery store from home...with all the things you'd ever need for your stay. The staff were very friendly. The hotel - suite was very clean and everyone was more than happy to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We really appreciated the security around..made us feel very safe. The food at the Cafe in the mornings was great...always fresh coffee. The Palapa Bar & Grill had great food and great service. It is a very well maintained resort, high end finishings, in suite laundry, with everything you need to have an extremely enjoyable stay. We would come back in a heart beat. We visited several of the other resorts during our stay just to compare...The Parrot Tree gets our vote hands down! We'll be coming back for sure!

Room Tip: We stayed in building # 4 by the beach. If you are coming during the busy season and you don't...

My husband and I stayed at the Parrott Tree Plantation for a week last New Year's Eve. Pros: the rooms are gorgeous, enormous and have all the modern conveniences. We loved making our own food most nights, did our laundry, and relaxed with TV when we wanted to. Also, the food at breakfast was delicous, the wait staff was superfriendly, and we loved having drinks by the water. Cons: it seemed that every other day a huge influx of cruise tourists would come to the Plantation during the day but then when they left the place was deader than dead. At one point we wondered if we were the only people staying there. Also, while the lagoon is gorgeous, the property isn't actually directly on the beach which we may have preferred.

Overall we had a GREAT time and I would recommend this to people like us (mid-30s professionals) who don't need to be in a sea of bars and restaurants. The best part really was the New Year's Eve celebration where they had specialty drinks, food brought in by local vendors, a DJ, the limbo and crab races!

Room Tip: Choose a room that overlooks the ocean. It was GORGEOUS!!!

Clean, great food and great service. Perfect to relax. Spectacular pool and such nice people.
The seafood soup and the 'parrillada platter' (plate full of steak, plantains, vegetables, avocado beans) were delicious and just $12 for 2. Authentic food. Hondra was so nice at the reception desk and Fernando was our favorite waiter.
Can't wait to go back!

We love this property, it has everything needed to relax and enjoy the great outdoors.
Fabulous pool and huge sandy beach lagoon. The property is a nature preserve and maintained nicely. Very safe and comfortable for any size family. I could live there forever!

We have visited Parrot Tree a couple times and each time has been superb. From the staff, the food and the amenities. Just there this past Friday. Our kids loved the huge pool and slide the most. The Palapa restaurant has some great items as well. I got the fish fingers ($8) which were huge and very tasty. The other time I got a burger and my wife got the fish filet. All mui bueno!

Room Tip: Get close to the lagoon for some gorgeous views

We did not stay at Parrot Tree Plantation however we spent several days there. We had fantastic breakfast's there twice. Foodxwas excellent as was the service. We spent the night of the 4th of July there and had an absolute blast. And for $10.00 you can use their exsquisite pool for the day. The pool is separated into 4 sections with waterfalls and flowers of all kinds. There are chaise lounges and lots of four poster beds with clean white sheets and pillowcases. They also have billowy white curtains on the beds. There is a small but fast waterslide too. The palapa bar is a minute walk. By the palapa bar is a huge man made lagoon with the same types of furniture as the pool. The fireworks were held at the lagoon. For $10.00 you can't go wrong. The condos and villas are stunning but out of my price range. If you can't afford to stay there at least spend the money and enjoy the beauty for a day.

This hotel is 30 minutes from the port and 40 minutes from the airport. They have an amazing pool and pretty rooms, some of them with jacuzzi, kitchenette, washer, dryer.
The food is awful, they don't have many options in the menu. my wife got sick eating a seafood soup. she was at the hospital for ten days. if you go to this hotel make sure of buying medicines, because they don't have a first aid kit and the hotel is 30 minutes from the downtown.
I would recommend you rent a car if u want to stay there.the sand is man made. they build a lagoon.
