“Excellent Low Cost Wedding Venue”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

I held my wedding here and it was amazing. Yes the hotel is dated as the previous reviews have mentioned but the grounds were lovely for my photographs and the staff made a lovely job of doing up the room for my wedding meal. The food was traditional, homely and very tasty. Most important to us was the fact that they charged a fair price and overall it was not that expensive compared to other venues. The staff were also very accommodating. I would recommend this as a cheap and cheerful wedding venue, everybody enjoyed the meal and everybody had an excellent time.

Room Tip: Only had poor sleep quality due to the scorching weather!

We recently stayed in their 'family room' which wasn't part of the hotel but in a converted stable block in the grounds. The room was very basic, the shower was over the bath and there was almost no room to move. The tiling and plastering was dreadful and def not worth spending £85 per night. The food in the bar was exceptionally limited (only 8 items) and only ice cream available for dessert. I had the luxury fish dinner which had been microwaved to death and my husband had gammon which was ok. Our son had a children's meal which was a bit watery but he said the sausages were nice. His dessert was an ice cream sundae which was actually served in its plastic container and just plonked in a sundae glass, plastic and all!!!
The bar area was very large and reminded us of a 1980s caravan site club which is a shame as there was so much more that could be done with it. Breakfast however was lovely. wont be going back.

Room Tip: Avoid the outside converted rooms and ask for room in the hotel when booking as oddly both the same...

We stayed at Mooreville Hall as part for a birthday party recently. The hotel is very much in the middle of nowhere but as we were staying at the venue for the party this wasn't too much of a problem. On metering the hotel no one was on reception, and after searching through the ground floor the reception staff were in the pool area. Check on was smooth. The rooms are a bit strange, big enough to have a sofa and large wardrobe in but with a bathroom that is so small the sink is outside in the bedroom! The hotel was very warm, but we could open the patio door to let in some cold air. Beds were comfy and staff allowed a late check out without any extra charge/hassle.
