“Why cant more hotels be this good.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2013

Had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights. The rooms are very comfortable and tastefully presented, the staff are extremely professional and well trained and the food is particularly good. The beds are so comfortable that I had the best nights sleep in ages.

I paid £85.00 p/night b&b plus £35.00 p/night for a 3 course dinner and wine - this in my opinion offers excellent value and puts so many hotels in their shadow, I have paid far more for far less.

Well done to whomever is responsible for this hotel, you are doing a fantastic job and I look forward to staying again one day.

Arranged a birthday celebration for 18 in Le Bouchon's private dining room. The table was beautifully laid, the staff very attentive and the food. Two of our party stayed the night and I understand that they were delighted with their room and breakfast. I would recommend Le Bouchon to anyone

I have been staying in this hotel for a few months now as I am currently away on business in the area and the company I work for choose to put me up in this hotel, I am over joyed to be staying in this hotel, I couldn’t be happier..... I hate being away from home, and I don’t find living in hotels enjoyable one bit but staying at a hotel as nice as this one makes its so much easier for me to be away.
The rooms are decorated beautifully, and are spotless. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi throughout the building, as I have stayed in a few different rooms since I’ve been here (at my request) I am yet to have a problem picking up the Wi-Fi signal in my room.
All the staff are very pleasant, so helpful and friendly. They want to make your stay with them as pleasant and hassle free as possible, and they do.
The food in the hotel is amazing (the hotel is also a brasserie), and its definitely good value for money.

In summary if you want a beautiful, well priced hotel room with amazing food, brilliant facilities, hospitality and staff you should stay here. If i had to score it out of 10 it would easily be a 10+

My wife and I spent three pleasant restfull days at Le Bouchon otel & Brasserie.
The room was very elegant and comfortable as was the hotel .
Staff attentive and polite breakfast all you would expect from an establishment of this high standard.
Although we did not use the Brasserie it was very busy and that speaks for itself.
I would recommend this hotel as a must to any one visiting the Heybridge/Maldon area.

Me and my husband visited last week, the place did look lovely and had a nice atmosphere. The food was a little pricey but worth it and was of a nice quality, but the service left a lot to be desired we felt like we were a burden being there. Won't be going back

Dear Madam,

We are pleased that you enjoyed your meal with us, but disappointed that you found the service to be sub-standard. We work hard to ensure our waiting staff are attentive and would be interested to speak with you in more detail regarding your experience.

Please contact the hotel at your convenience and we will be happy to talk through your observations.

We apologise for the delay in answering your review but we have only just had an account on TripAdvisor set up which enables us to contact you.

We look forward to hearing from you.

We have eaten here on a number of occasions and it has always been a good experience, good food and attentive service. Not Central London, but a massive boost to choice in Maldon. A couple of weeks ago we stayed here on the saturday night. The staff were fantastic in allowing us to select a room and in attending to our requests. As you would expect breakfast was excellent. Our room was comfortable and well decorated, if a little cold initially (it was February and a heater was soon made available). We did note that the room did not contain a desk or dressing table so perhaps a limitation for business travellors. If like us you live in a quiet location I would recommend room 14 - at the back of the hotel and top floor away from the kitchen noise. Overall a good experience & would recommend. Not quiet a du Vin or Malmaison but nearly there.

We visited for lunch and were impresssed with the ambience and decor. The service was also good and the food was good enough for a 5 star review HOWEVER, one of our party chose the lamb dish and whilst not wishing to cause a scene, we did not realise until afterwards that the dish was served without any potato or vegetable. There was not even a mention of a side dish being offered and the staff suggested none. Consequently we left feeling that the whole experience had been spoiled for the "ha'peth of tar" or indeed potato.
