Have been here a few times now and from the moment you enter the reception it's never anything but professional.
The ambience in the bar and restaurant is warm and well laid out. The tables are spaced out well ie not on top of one another and have good quality linen etc.
The food really is first class, we've been lucky enough to dine in Michelin star restaurants and feel this surpasses some of them for food AND service.
Although Le Bouchon is around 40 minutes away from where we live its well worth the journey. Can't wait to return.

We recently went for a birthday lunch celebration and was not disappointed. The menu offered a nice variety for all food types (veggie, fish lovers or meat heads).

The waiting staff were lovely and attentive and the unexpected high of the day was the magician. He provided fun & amazement without being cheesy (not an easy task!)

Hotel staff very helpful, rooms ok, restaurant ok but overall very expensive with no amenities. Details should state that it is on a very busy road, on an industrial estate with nothing to look at other than the road or the car park. Not a place I would return to under any circumstances.

Room Tip: My advice would be to chose a room in another hotel somewhere else.

well what can i say, from start to finish our Afternoon Tea was very professionally presented by the staff and it was gorgeous. Even from when our booking was taken they shone through.

We arrived and confirmed our reservation before they took our coats and hung them up for us. We were then led to our laid out table, they were dressed in what i consider proper table cloths, doubled up and fully ironed. They pride themselves on their presentation.

The lovely staff then took our tea and coffee requests and then went away to get them ready. In the meantime our cakes arrives, shortly followed by our finger sandwiches for 4. They were very nicely presented on two 3 tier stands. Our tea was then served in proper china cups and saucers.

We had cucumber, egg mayonaise and salmon with cream cheese, on both white and brown bread. We had nearly finished these when our champagne was brought along with some strawberries and clotted cream. This was very nice, and the staff were always attentive and made sure we were always happy.

We were slightly full when we got to the cakes, we each had a freshly made scone, shortbread strawberry biscuit, a chocolate orange cupcake, lemon and blackberry sponge and a macaroon.

These were all freshly made from appearance and were very tasty, any you don't finish can be taken home in a box for later consumption but we finished all ours off.

Overall it was a lovely experience, with attentative staff and a nice atmosphere. They were always happy to fill up some more pots of tea and coffee for us. We will be going back

We needed a night away & a very recent inheritance encouraged me to push the boat out. We chose Le Bouchon because it's website promised something special. Also because it's very near where late uncle lived so seemed appropriate for him to treat us to a night there.

The car park worried me. How can somewhere as nice as we hoped be next door to a shot-blaster, on the corner of an industrial estate? But once inside, we soon forgot the surroundings.

Super room with four poster and a great nights sleep. A DB&B all inclusive a la carte rate meant uninhibited exploration of the menu - my Beef Wellington was awesome, as was the chocolate mousse.

The staff here make the place truly special. Motivated, enthusiastic and very able. We were well looked after, despite the place being hugely busy.

In summary: Essex; excellent, but a little expensive!

Had a lovely afternoon tea here with my friend and our mums. Everything was laid out for us ready when we arrived and the waiters did not waste any time finding out our tea preferences and bringing them out to us. We had a selection of sandwiches, scones, cupcakes, fresh strawberries and a few other sweet delights. The good was good, service attentive and atmosphere relaxed. Would definitely come back here again!

There's not much choice for reasonable hotels in the Maldon to Burnham area. This one sees itself as "restaurant with rooms" rather than "hotel with restaurant".

It has very friendly and helpful staff in reception, the restaurant and the bar: service was excellent. My room was quiet, very clean and had a comfortable bed.

The hotel has been open for about 18 months but still has some teething troubles with the heating system. My room was rather cold, but reception staff provided an electric heater. The landline wouldn't work, but again reception quickly produced a cordless phone.

I had the fixed price dinner menu for about £24 - steak was excellent but the French onion soup was a bit average. Wine was a sensible price. The place is clearly popular with locals and was almost full on a Tuesday evening.

Breakfast quality was good, service again friendly, quick and helpful.

I would be happy to return.
