“Mountain Bike World Cup Weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

We were staying nearby at The Great Glen Lodges and after attending the Mountain biking we had a couple of great social evenings on the barge. Victoria and Will made us welcome and kept the company entertained, well fed and well watered. The Friday night jam session was just class and Sundays friendly banter and quiz made it another memorable evening. We hope to be back soon.

Wonderfully eccentric friendly Pub Barge - Family Run by the lovely Will and owned by his Parents - Local Musicians Jamming most nights - no cards accepted by Will let us run a tab all weekend :-) Made a few local friends in here - highly recommended!

“What a lovely place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2014 via mobile

We found the eagle while sailing by on a wet and cold day, it was a very welcoming place and very accommodating to people and pets alike! The menu is basic in the afternoon but we enjoyed our choices. They also did takeaway chips for our supper that night after we moored nearby, which were very nice. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

“A warm and friendly welcome awaits at a great bar with galleons of charm and character”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2014

Exploring South Laggan one late Burns Night afternoon; I wandered down a short stretch of the Great Glen Way from the Great Glen Hostel to Laggan Locks to the Eagle Barge Inn. With the night and weather drawing-in, I was pleasantly surprised to find the pub open in off-season and ducked-in for 'a drink'. The warm and friendly welcome from the staff (Will and Victoria) and locals; combined with high-quality banter made for a memorable visit (and a few more drinks than originally anticipated). Will even gave me a lift back to the hostel.
The Bar has a good selection of local ales, with a cosy layout and oodles of character and atmosphere.
Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely ensure I stop by for another pint and some of their fare.
