This is a good little budget hotel. Rooms are basic, small, a bit dated but very clean. Air-conditioning works fine, but the wireless is very slow, sometimes inaccessible. The hotel is generally quiet and it is well situated on the bay with a small beach just across the road. The service from the girls at the reception is excellent. The hotel can also arrange drivers to collect and deliver you to the airport or other places if needed, for a fee of course. Breakfast is not bad but the restaurant at other times of the day is average at best. Food is rather greasy, portions are small and it is expensive compared to other places. However you can always walk up the street where there are a few more pubs/grill houses etc. to choose from. All in all, as a base to explore Montenegro this is a good budget B&B. Bear in mind that there is not much to do in Bijela so you might need to rent a car if you want to go further afield.

I have used this hotel maybe 5 or 6 times for work (Local Shipyard) The staff, especially the Ladies on reception are very friendly, polite and helpful. I ate all my meals at the hotels restaurant, which has vastly improved its selection over the years, but is still limited if you stay for long periods!
The actual rooms are nothing special, however it depends on what you need it for. With me working all day, i was basically just using the room for Showering and sleeping. Unfortunately the Wifi is pretty much useless in the room, but at the bar/eating area it is sufficient!

Again like the previous reviewers comments, all very suitable.

I liked this hotel. Most of the staff is really friendly and committed to help. The reception staff is among the nicest and kindest I've ever seen. I remember them very fondly. When I needed to go somewhere they offered to take me by car free of charge, plus they had lots of other kind gestures.

As for the hotel, it is in my view rather a 3- than a 4-star. The thing I liked best, apart from the staff, is the position and the beautiful view. Also, the fact that it is 10 metres from the sea, it has a convenient private beach, cleaned every day, and the view from the balcony is simply fantastic.

The beach is split in two, there's a part with pebbles and a part on a concrete pier, convenient if you don't like sand or pebbles. There are umbrellas and deckchairs for free but you need to bring your own towels.

The hotel is located in Bijela, which is not as nice as the central part of Herceg Novi. There's a camping and some cheap hotels down the road from the hotel. That' s not a particularly appealing area, but the hotel itself is located in the best position, very quiet and in the most beautiful point of the bay. This makes it perfect if you want to rest, also because the water is really warm in this area and the place is just ideal for swimming in the sea.

If you want to go out in the evening, be aware that you need to take a taxi or public transport to go to the center of Herceg Novi or to other places as Bijela does not offer much. Note however that taxis are really cheap in Montenegro and from the hotel there is easy and frequent public transport.

If you're the type that only swims in swimming pools, note there is none in this hotel (and also no fitness room).

The hotel has a nice bar/restaurant on a terrace in front of the hotel, serving good food in generous portions. The price is certainly good for Western standards, although you can eat for 25-30% less down the road for comparable quality. In the end, however, I ate there most of the time because the restaurant is nicer than its competitors. The breakfast is very good on salty dishes (eggs, salami, salads etc) but a little lacking on the sweets (no croissant , cakes or toast, one type of jam).

My room was a bit small, and the furniture is nothing special, but it had a lovely small balcony. I was impressed by how well the cleaning lady did her job, she actually even put my things in order, wow! Bathroom was ok.

If you are very sensitive to sound, unfortunately there is a bar, next to the hotel, whose music is slightly too loud. This was not a problem for me, but it did prevent sleeping with the window open, a pity given the quiet surroundings.

I have not experienced any problems with water, as reported by other travellers for Montenegro, nor have I had any problems with any of the other guests.

If you're not afraid of heights, I really recommend trying the parasailing offered in the bay, you'll see the motorboat coming and going in front of the hotel. It's a very nice experience, you will see the lovely Bay of Kotor at its best, really worth it. Try to do it at sunset.

Overall I would certainly stay again in this hotel and would recommend it to others who want a good, simple holiday without much fuss, enjoying the sea.

Room Tip: I would certainly ask for sea view
