Kingston Terrace Serviced Apartments

After a terrible experience with a city hotel in Canberra ( no longer a hotel not surprisingly ) we were anxious about were to stay on this trip. After much searching we decided on Kingston Terrace. We were so pleased it was large and we were given 2 bedrooms despite having booked 1 with a rollaway bed. It is in a great position and you can walk to the wonderful restaurants of Kingston. it's an easy drive to all of Canberras attractions. Would highly recommend.

We recently had 3 nights here and were very happy with our stay. Check in was quick, our apartment very spacious, clean and with all the mod cons. We had a 2 bedroom spa bath apartment, with washing machine and tumble dryer. There was a second TV in the master bedroom, air-con (we had it set to heat the place!) electric blankets and the kitchen appliances were all good quality. The apartment is serviced daily if you wish.
There was a small supply of tea coffee and milk, but the local shopping area is only a few mins walk away. Kingston has got everything you need, restaurants cafes and supermarkets. It is not far at all to the city, and there is a bus stop right outside the apartments. You are supplied with a secure parking space. There is a pool, but as it was july, we didn't use it. There is WiFi but you have to pay. Our room smelled a bit of stale tobacco, although there is a no smoking policy, but that was the only negative. I would recommend.

Booked a 2 bedroom unit with a rollaway bed and was pleasantly surprised to find we had a 3 bedroom unit when we arrived. Reception was closed on arrival but contact numbers were provided and they gave us the combination to the safe to get our key! Unusual but it worked. We were on the 3rd floor so lots of stairs but the rooms were well equipped, clean and spacious. Well located, cafes/restaurants in Kingston are very close and a very large selection of restaurants in Manuka are also a very clsoe drive away. Well located for sight seeing - would definatley use again.

i did not make the booking myself, when i turned up i was more than happy with check in and the hotel its self, i also asked to extend my stay, this was not a drama at all. i did have to walk up six filghts of stairs from the car parking to the third level so be prepared.
apon arriving at my room i was welcomed with a clean sizedabe kitchen and living area, clean freshly made up bed and a spa in the bathroom which was very unexpected (very nice after a big day out and a walk up the stairs). this hotel has swimming pool and tennis court (too cold at the time to take advantage of either)
the only down side that i can pick up was that my room was not serviced on the weekend. and that the hotel does not have a kitchen therefore no restraunt, IRD or cooked breakfast.
short walk to local cafe's, restraunts, local IGA and bottle shop.
i found the staff that i had contact with (not that many) very helpful and friendly.

We moved to this place after we had found our original 'four star place' somewhat lacking.
The manager was happy to help us out at short notice.
This place was what we expected from a four star self contained apartment. It was very well maintained with modern appliances, had a nice ambience and close to the Canberra city attractions. There are a couple of brilliant restaurants about 2 minutes walk. Secure parking. Great service from the staff who make up the rooms each day.

Kingston Terrace Serviced Apartments are located within walking distance of Kingston shops, which has some great restaurants and cafes. The apartments have free parking, half tennis court, BBQ and a pool. The apartment I stayed in was very spacious with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, family size kitchen, laundry and balcony. The apartment was spotless and was well serviced daily. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was well heated with reverse cycle airconditioning. Reception is open from 7:00am to 11:00 pm and check in and out was quick. The only downsize to the apartments is that you may be required to walk up three flights of stairs with luggage. The location is quiet, although there is a large construction site nearby which is a bit noisy during day hours.

We travel to Canberra fairly regularly and thought we would give Kingston a try in one of their 3 bedroom apartments but were disappointed to say the least. On arrival found the room and foyer areas smell of smoke despite being non-smoking, hair on the toilets and not very clean. We found a rotting bag of onions in one of the cupboards and the oven not very clean at all. All kitchenware is of a very cheap standard. TV was modern, but covered in fingerprints. Certainly nowhere near standard of comparable apartment blocks like Clifton on Northbourne. Final insult was 1.5% credit card charge (3.5% for AMEX!) not mentioned on their website. At $280 we expected a little better. Location is good, and the apartment is spacious but the standard of care was too low for us to ever consider returning.
