Manuka Park Serviced Apartments
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 12 April 2014

I stayed here from Nov 2013 - Feb 2014. The apartments are very well located and a very easy walking distance to the Manuka restaurant district, and the restaurant strip at Kingston. It is true what other reviewers have said that there is no servicing on weekends, but apart from that - the apartments are well furnished, modern and clean. My only two issues were: 1) The clothes washing machines in all the units I stayed in were quite old, and there were no clear instructions on how to use them (which section do I put the detergent in etc). I ended up having to spend quite a while Googling for the instruction manuals to find the instructions to make sure I did it right. Finding a manual on the internet for washing machines that old wasn't easy. Perhaps management could include clear instructions on how to use the machines? Plus there are different models of machines in various apartments. Also my 2nd issue was I stayed here during Summer in Canberra, and while the weather in Canberra is beautiful most of the time - I was here during a small heat wave. The way the apartments are designed with a single split system airconditioner in the living area - the cold air doesn't really make it through to the bedroom. It's a small thing, but during those nights when it was quite warm - it was hard to stay cool in bed, even though the airconditioner was working at full speed in the living room. There are various ways to solve this issue (2nd A/C unit in the bedroom, or a constant exhaust fan to bring air from the living room through to the bedroom area). Other than that, I had no real issue with staying here and would stay here again.

Room Tip: The single bedroom rooms are actually better than the two-bedroom rooms. The bathrooms in the singl...

As other reviewers have noted these apartments are well located and appointed but they are not serviced apartments as I understand the phrase. Although the website states that "apartments are meticulously serviced on a regular basis" no cleaning or linen services are available over weekends or public holidays which is of course when many people actually want to use holiday accommodation. My advice to the management would be to either change the name or provide services on the weekend.

We booked in here after seeing them in a local brochure. We booked for one night, and stayed for four. They are in the process of refurbishing the units, and our one was one that had been done. It was on the second level at the end, and we thought it was excellent. Beautifully refurbished, and fitted with quality fittings. There was a full kitchen including dishwasher, washing machine, and clothes drier, very handy.
The bathroom and separate shower were fitted with liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, a nice touch.. Our unit had a large front deck with table and chairs, and a rear deck with table and chairs. All windows and ranch sliders were fitted with insect screens which was great for stopping evening bugs. Air conditioning was fitted. A selection of DVDs was available for hire. An audio system was in the sitting room with an additional TV in the main bedroom.
Fantastic accommodation highly recommended.

Stayed in room 36 recently with the wife for a few nights and did not encounter any problem at all. The room had everything required, was cool in the afternoon, even had to turn the new A/C down, and even though across the road from the Kingston Hotel was a very quiet room. Very close to the beaut cafes and restaurant strip at Manuka and Coles a five minute walk. The CBD is a five minute drive. The new caretakers are very helpful and friendly. While in Canberra go to the War Memorial, it was the best three hours of my life.

great location, easy to get to the around Canberra. the apartment was clean & easy to access from the underground security car park. Pool was great for kids. short walk to Kingston & Manuka restaurants. stop by the Info Centre on the way into to town to buy tickets to the tourist attractions, their pricing was cheaper than the buying at each location. "3 in Fun" was great value.

What a great find Manuka Park Apartments are! Clean, well appointed, close to both Manuka and Kingston shops and restaurants as well as other attractions makes it an ideal stay for exploring and enjoying Canberra. The pool was most welcome after a full day of sight seeing. We will definitely be returning.

We were in Canberra for a family wedding and we all chose to stay at Manuka Park Apartments. The ceremony was at Old Parliament House and the reception at the National Art Gallery which were only a 5minute drive from the apartments, so we were in a good location.

We booked 2 x 2 bedroom apartments and 1 x 1 bedroom apartments. I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment with my partner, sister and her husband and we did not feel cramped or on top of each other. The kitchen was of a good size and clean but we decided to eat out most of the time. My other family members seemed happy with their rooms as well.

The pool itself was a little dirty but it was too cold to swim anyway which I can understand why it might not have been cleaned recently. But the area surrounding the pool was clean so we just sat around in the sun which was nice to catch up with family we hadn't seen for a while.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and tried their best to accommodate our requests considering there were a lot of us staying there. The only little issue we had was that their web prices on their own website were cheaper than if you called up and book directly with the hotel, however if you call and question this, they honor the cheaper price.

Overall, we all had a great time and we would probably stay here again.

Room Tip: If you a booking a 2 bedroom apartment and you need 2 queen beds make sure to request this because t...
