Nice Hotel, I say all over the world and would stay here again.
Nice and clean and very modern and good car parking.

Kitchenette area was great with the espresso machine as a great touch!
Hotel was located just outside of the centre of Canberra near Manuka,

I stayed here with my mother during the Human Brochure weekend in February 2013. I highly recommend East Hotel - it is an amazing hotel and has impressed me beyond expectations. I was particularly impressed with the Nespresso machine in our room and the nightly turn-downs. I also loved the modern & simple design and its retro theme. Would definitely go back!!

We stayed at this new hotel for Easter 2013 with a family of 2 kids. The inter connecting rooms was great and the hotel took the time to confirm our room needs the day before arrival. Being a new hotel everything worked well. Walking distance to Manuka cafes and Coles for grocery shopping. Only complaint was the room cleaning each day was limited.

We really enjoyed our stay at East Hotel. The room was very clean and well presented. The beds were very comfortable, kitchenette area was great with the nespresso machine as a great touch! Loved the products in the bathroom....smelt amazing!! Hotel was located just outside of the centre of Canberra near Manuka, great for bars and restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely! The Romantic package which included parking, breakfast and tickets to the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition at the National Gallery was superb... the room was lovely, bright, spacious and sunny, the fitout and furnishings are a bit 60s-70s and quirky, the location is great - a quick 5 minutes to Manuka restaurants, and a leisurely 10-15 minutes stroll to Lake Burley Griffin for the morning promenade... and back to the hotel via Kingston for a coffee.
Can't wait to go back... my new fave destination in Canberra...

Room Tip: Rooms facing Manuka Oval are sunny (western side?)...

This was our first time in Canberra and I was very happy with the choice of hotel. The East Hotel is relatively new and is in a great part of town with Manuka and Kingston just a few minutes away. The room was well appointed - pleasingly it had a small kitchenette with Nespresso machine, etc. The bed was very comfy. Housekeeping was not bad but not great. They could definitely focus more on this area.

The hotel restaurant looked great and was buzzing on a Saturday night. Unfortunately we weren't able to secure a table without a booking.

We didn't take advantage of them but the hotel also has bikes you can borrow - we will definitely use these next time to explore more of the area around the hotel.

Service was friendly but a bit of a letdown. We asked for restaurant recommendations twice and were basically told "there are too many options to single anywhere out..." The fridge in our room overheated and turned the milk sour. We called housekeeping who said they would deliver fresh milk but it never arrived. Just a small gripe but annoying nonetheless.

The hotel advertises free wifi in the room rate but its capped at 100MB a day.

Overall it was a good hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

This is a well set out hotel with good room size, and appointments, and kitchenette facilities if you want them in your room. Other reviews have noted its great location to Manuka and Kingston and a number of the major tourist attractions - there is no need to stay in central Canberra. Some nice touches with free bikes and access to a larger gym than the hotel if you need it. The staff are very helpful and have been trained well.
The restaurant and bar has a very comfortable feel to it with an eclectic menu and seemed popular when we were there. My only negative is that the continental breakfast is very basic - no cut fruit or comprehensive choice for example - and there is no cooked breakfast option. They also do not deliver newspapers to your room so there is a rush in the morning to grab them! - both of these are somewhat surprising for a hotel that is positioning itself as 4.5 stars. Perhaps It could be explained by the range of breakfast options within 500 metres but not really a great option in the middle of winter!

We will definitely come back but will be prepared in advance and make our own breakfast in the room next time!

Room Tip: try to avoid rooms on the eastern side if you want a quieter experience as there is a pub across the...
