“Surprisingly excellent vegetarian menu, open on Easter”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

My husband and I were in Canberra over Easter weekend. Almost everything was closed due to the holidays, but thank goodness this place was open. It has a whole vegetarian menu, which was a surprise. We both had the spicy tofu soup, which was delicious. For mains, my husband had a calamari dish, and I had the Yummy Vegetarian "Chicken" and Tofu dish. I can't speak for the calamari, but my dish was seriously good. It's bring your own booze, and there was a grocery store next door that was (also surprisingly) open, and the whole meal was fantastic. Can't say enough good things about this place.

“"Cheap and cheerful" expertly delivered”
Reviewed 11 April 2014 via mobile

This restaurant is an almost perfect rendition of the "cheap and cheerful" model: the decor is basic, the place is crowded and noisy, and the food is delicious. We did not bother ordering, but instead went for the "just feed us" approach, which worked very well. All the dishes were tasty and well prepared. We ate all that we could eat and just ended up paying $33 a head, including corkage. Result.

“Hospitality Plus”
Reviewed 9 April 2014 via mobile

This was my second only visit to this restaurant and I'm definitely going back for more. The food is great tasting and the prices very reasonable. No worries if you can't decide what to order - they're happy to help! Highly recommend.

“Nothing posh but reasonable nosh”
Reviewed 3 April 2014 via mobile

We went to this restaurant on the basis of good reviews we've seen and the known reputation of this place. As other reviews have said the decor is pretty basic and the service can be a bit hit and miss but the food wasn't bad and tasted authentic. This place is BYO and we weren't offered any other drinks apart from cold water. No coffee either which was a bit disappointing. The price was very reasonable with the bill coming to $129 for 5 of us and we were quite full. There were plenty of people patronising the restaurant and coming in for takeaway so they're obviously doing something right!

“Popular for Very Good Reasons”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

This restaurant is popular and amongst Canberra based politicians it appears to have a good reputation, too. Having eaten there now on two occasions and also enjoyed one of their takeaway meals we're satisfied that its popularity is well deserved.

The service, the food and the overall value for money is excellent. We've particularly enjoyed the wok fried garlic rice, fish fillets with a classic Vietnamese tomato base sauce, braised lamb with sherry, onions & shallots (drinking lamb) and the stir-fried dishes. There are lots of other yummy dishes of course.

Like many Vietnamese restaurants there's nothing pretentious or especially upmarket about the dining; the value is all in the service and food so who needs fancy dining? This is a BYO restaurant.
