Creme brûlée made 3 courses a must. Cauliflower soup was good, medium are fillet steak excellent. Others also had good choices except the calamari.
Wines good. Staff friendly.
That creme brûlée would be worth a repeat visit.

We dined at the Fig Tree Restaurant, for our evening meal, while staying at Rydges Capital Hill in Canberra. The restaurant is situated in Rydges Hotel garden atrium. We were most satisfied with the service (special mention to Josh who was our very attentive waiter). The food was of an excellent standard and nicely presented. They also have an acceptable wine list for your choice. We would certainly revisit this restaurant.

The breakfast was good. Around $25 per head for non guests. The red toaster is really slow. The coffee machine runs out of water quick. In general though - the food selection is good. Hot - eggs done all sorts of ways, mushrooms, tomato, hash browns, bacon baked beans etc, cold, fruit, cereal, bakery. All types of milk. Granted - it was the sunday after Australia day that we went as a family. The service is good too. Pity you cannot add points to the Priority Club membership that the Motel is a part of.

Because most restaurants are close on Sunday. If not there are many other choices. It's located inside the ridges Carlton near parliament house which is good for politicians because of proximity

went there for lunch with a friend expecting to sit at a nice table with good wine but were shunted to an area which was definitely just like a very ordinary cafe. Food was not good hamburgers, fish and chips. Have eaten here at night and entirely different atmosphere - fine dining. very disappointed, would not return.
