An ideal holiday resort. Good accommodation and facilities for children. The best dog friendly establishment we have come across. The staff are very obliging nothing seems to be any trouble.

My husband and I ( plus dog ) have been going to Tropic Oasis for 2 years now with a total of 4 visits. We have always been happy with our stay, the place is beautiful, well kept, clean and the managers are very welcoming. They are also environmentally friendly. In fact we are now planning our next visit there this year. It is very rare to find a place that ticks all the right boxes! And Geraldine and Craig ( the managers ) treat us as family. I have no hesitation whatever in recommending Tropic Oasis to anyone.

If you love holidaying with your dogs this place is excellent. While the villas could do with some renovations there were no complaints from the dogs as they are allowed inside but are not allowed on the lounges or beds. Some of the villas have a small fenced grassed back yard and the managers will try and put anyone travelling with pets into one of these. When out and about in the resort dogs must be leashed and any poo picked up. Take the dogs on a nice walk to the beach, signs at the resort showing which way to go.
The kids had just as a good time, and being the June long weekend it wasn't hard meeting new found friends and off exploring the huge grounds with its lakes. While it was too cold to swim they have two nice sized pools. We honestly didn't see the kids much at all and had to drag them away to go anywhere outside of the resort.
This was stay number 3 or 4 for us and we will continue to go back regardless of the unrenovated villas as theres not many places like this that are truely pet friendly.

We went with our two small children and another family of the same makeup. The place was a dive. We stayed in a 4brm villa which had no insulation. It was incredibly hot inside the villa to the point where we couldn't sleep at night. The only window facing the breeze had the gauze ripped out of it, so it was a choice of either being eaten to death by mozzies (as our child was) or staying awake sweating. There was one ceiling fan but it was placed so high up in the cathedral ceiling, it did nothing but swish around the hot air. An airconditioner was installed, but again, it was too weak to make anything but the closest room cool.

Everything was in shoddy condition and dirty. Little signs were laid around the place warning that when we checked out, only the number of beds per person should be wrinkled. That is, if an extra bed had been slept in, we would be charged an extra $15 by management to remake the bed. If we required any extra tea/coffee/sugar satchels, we'd be charged 15c per satchel. So mean.

We wrote a list of 17 things which needed urgent attention (ie- a light globe in the dining room so we could see what we were eating). We were there for two nights so on our first morning went to speak with reception. Their office hadn't yet opened despite the sign saying it should have been. We went out for the day but came back early so that we could catch management before they closed for the day - they closed earlier than the sign said, so that we couldn't ask for some broken things in the place to be mended. We didn't have mobile phones so couldn't call them, as they told us we would have to, if there was a problem. It just made it all very unpleasant.

One good thing about it was there was a nice little swimming pool and spa. The children loved their canoe ride in the dam on the property. Besides that, it had very little going for it.

As managers & the guide lines provided with Trip Adviser we can't say too much, but what I will say is , the aircon works allot better with the doors & windows shut, the dining room light is on a dimmer switch & in this case it was turn down quite a bit, (that didn't take allot of fixing) , the office hours are 9-5 mon - fri & 9-1 sat -sun, it was unfortunate that we couldn't be contacted in person over these hrs, , it's not uncommon to fine us in the office or around the grounds well either side of the times mentioned, we are contactable 24/7 on our office number provided,
Kind Regards Craig & Geraldine

P.S.. sorry its taken so long to reply ...
