“Ocean dream - 2nd time this season ”

-Love this place for the kids sake - playground, pools, hot tub, sea, shells, beach & the non commerciality of it all.
-And this time there was even a coffee shop with more to come on 1 aug apparently.
- key code to get in & online check in so doesn't matter what time you arrive (online form itself not great so be careful you've succeeded)
- quick drive to park beach plaza & coffs tourist attractions

BUT
-Housekeeping a bit slack this time - no replacement toilet paper, dead bulbs & 2 seater couch getting very shabby looking & damp bit on ceiling that should be attended to
- Could have done with a spare bin bag being left under sink & a few more tea bags for a 3 day stay wouldn't have broken them! There's a charge sheet for extras if you could go to Korora beach but you'd be as well go to the shops so. A tiny bag of cafetiere coffee would've been a nice touch seeing as heretofore coffee was a drive away.
-A lot of cleaning expected from guests on check out plus you have to wait to empty the dishwasher, it's not like it's dirt cheap & hey I'm on holiday.
-Also it's says put out the bins in the carport but there's none provided
-Charging for wifi is bit last decade

Still like it though and the whinges I mention are all surmountable :)

Ocean Dream is the name given to unit 155...a lovely, private and modern 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit. Hubby and I stayed for 3 nights only but wished we could have stayed longer. The unit is very close to the beach and one can hear the waves...relaxing! The bed is not the most comfortable (a bit too soft), but ok. The accommodation has a full kitchen: stove, fridge, oven, microwave and dishwasher. The resort has 3 swimming pools, a hot tub, tennis courts, BBQs, small gym and it is absolute beach front! Sadly the in-house restaurant has been closed for a number of years so you'd have to drive to town to get a meal. There is a newly opened spa providing massage, hair dresser, manicure, etc Great place to relax!

Room Tip: Units closer to beach are the best

The beach house we had near reception was lovely, so lovely we rang and extended our stay.

Nautilus resort seems to be a group of privately owned holiday villas with 2 amazing communal pools and a nearly private beach. Also there's a playground, mini gym, hot tub & tennis courts. It's totally self catering.

While there is a reception (which is nothing to do with booking the accommodation we had) & communal resort areas there were no staff on the Anzac weekend - which was good as you could potter around with no pressure to buy anything. It seemed weird though with it being the last weekend of holiday season for a while. Your villa key opens the pool gates.

Some nice seating set up overlooking the sea so you can BYO there apparently.

Confusing for GPS - it's Sapphire Beach not Coffs Harbour.

Booking.com also says there's no parking and there is (how else would you get there?!)

Would defo stay again.

We stayed here in July and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to have lots of space as we booked the 2 bedroom which had 2 bathrooms as well. I loved the spa, which was the biggest I've seen. I also loved being able to stroll on the beach. We had fun playing tennis.

139 Hibiscus Drive was a deluxe suite with courtyard in which my wife and I stayed from 19th to 26th Dec. Room was clean, tidy and had many facilities, i.e. washing m/c,dryer,microwave,toaster,jug, and a Webber Q bbq in the courtyard. Although one of the furthest from the beach it was only 2-3 mins walk. Nice deck areas overlooking the beach. The smaller pool is more sheltered than the main pool on a day with ocean breezes. The resort has a small gym, tennis courts, and a day Spa. Even though advertised the Resort had no restaurant open and it looked as though it had been closed for some time. The Cafe had only just got council approval and was not opening until 27th Dec. We were not told of this situation when we booked only when we arrived to check and then only when I asked about the restaurant. Other than that a good place to stay.

We booked a villa at this place at Sapphire Beach based on the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. The reception was very warm and friendly. We stayed for 3 nights in a room away from the beach near Hibiscus Drive. (We could not hear the waves from our room.) The room was comfortable and fairly large. We enjoyed using the tennis courts which are right next to the great deck overlooking the beach. The pools were quite attractive but the solar heated pool needed better heating as there was little difference to the unheated pools in their temperature.
Unfortunately the location near the major highway made for a noisy night's sleep with trucks regularly using their engine brakes to slow down. Maybe the trucks could be encouraged to avoid using these noisy brakes with some roadside signs. Also don't expect to sleep in as the room has no blockouts on the high windows above the raked ceiling making the room very bright early in the day.
Apart from these couple of niggles we enjoyed the facilities and the location next to the beach is extremely scenic. Would highly recommend for people who sleep easily (or use earplugs).

Room Tip: The A/C worked really well. Park Beach Plaza on the north side of Coffs is a good place to pick up f...
