“Great place would recommend!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

Stayed only for a night, would have loved to stay longer. Free WiFi and not to far from 'town' are pro's. There were renovations going on at the time so it was a little loud during the day, but I would imagine they should be sorted soon. 100% better than the YHA down the road. Will definitely stay at again!

This was my first hostel of the easy coast so I wasn't really sure what to expect but wow Aussitels set the standard high! A pick up at 6:30 was brilliant, followed by a drive around town and watching the sun rise from the look out point! The hostel was very friendly, free wifi, the activities run daily were great. I did the 4x4 drive, stand up paddle boarding and sea kayaking which was one of the favourite activities looking back on my travels. Not a bad kitchen and very clean all round. Not a hostel to be missed!

This is a lovely hostel, you can't complain about the price it's pretty cheap and all activities are free, every backpackers favourite word!!! The rooms were a little cramped but still really clean, pretty comfy beds! The only bad thing is we went in the summer and they just had one fan on the wall which only hit one person.

I really enjoyed my stay here, booked for a few nights and ended up staying for over a week! There's a lot of free activities; surf/ body boards, kayaks, stand up boards, canoes and more all for free and for no hassle. The 3 reps that work there, as well as the 2 live in owners, are very nice and positive and there are 2 daily activities that are both cheap and fun if you choose to participate. The living room shuts at 11 which is good if you want to sleep but there is an area outside if you want to stay up and drink. The only problem is a lack of showers but it's more of an issue on paper than practice as I was never really kept waiting. Overall, very clean and happy place and I very much recommend!

Very friendly hostel. Had to telephone for pick up as apparently the Greyhound is usually late (we were) but the driver went out of his way to show us around including a view point. Reception were very helpful and nice. Free wifi and computers. Nice dorm. They had a Taco evening when I was there for $6 (which is good for Australia!). Lots of people staying longer term as they were working but in all a friendly place. They had organised events on the days I was there although I ad my own plans of things to see. I wish I had the time to stay longer!

This was only a one night stopover for me so I didn't deal much with the staff or get to experience the activities. In late and out early.

I think this is a great place to stay if you need a good nights sleep, there is barely any noise. All the people I met were lovely and it feels like a family home. The service station is right next door which makes it really easy if you need to buy anything. Room was spacious and clean. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the showers, they look like they haven't had a clean for a year.

All in all a good place to stay, I would definately stay again.

Room Tip: I was staying in a 6 share room.

We were originally meant to stay in Coffs Harbor for 4 days, 9 days later we are still here. Aussitel is one of the best hostels we have stayed in not only is it such good value for money there is also such a good atmosphere here and with free/really cheap activities to do in the morning and evening. It's seriously worth stopping off here for a couple of days. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms and communal areas are always clean and tidy and the bedrooms big and the beds comfy. There is a pool and a big sheltered outside smoking areas (there is also no-smoking areas outside) which are great to chill out in during the afternoon/evenings. Its not far from the beach about 10/15 minutes walk, they do free morning activities at the beach like surfing, jetty jumping and beach volleyball. There is also a creek across the road where you can kayak, canoe and paddle board - You can hire all these for FREE!!! Other morning activities include 4x4 driving, trips out to the Big Banana, trips into the forest ect all for very reasonable prices if they are not free! Evening activities are nice to! They have a very tasty BBQ every Sunday, Quiz night, goon pong, they also do sunset kayaking and visits out to see wild kangaroos, ect.

Aussitel is more than worth the money, I'd recommend staying here. I feel so at home here, its lovely :)

Room Tip: All rooms are pretty similar :) basic but spacious
