Description: Set in beautiful poolside surroundings, Uccello is ivy's hidden rooftop gem. Featuring an authentic Italian menu with only the freshest produce, each dish allows the ingredients to speak for themselves. Uccello's steak menu features incredible pasture-fed beef sourced direct from Adelaide's passionate and dedicated butcher, Richard Gunner. After dry-aging on the bone for six to eight weeks to ensure meat is tender and flavourful, cuts are cooked simply over flame with McLaren Vale Olive Oil and Murray River pink salt.

We went to Uccello for my sisters 40th b'day celebrations (a second night out as an adult family visiting Sydney) The atmosphere was pumping (though a bit noisy for my Dads hearing aids) and the people watching amazing! We hardly had to make our own conversation!! The meal was quick to be served and the sides were delicious! The desserts were fantastic. We had too many yummy cocktails. The waitress was very lovely and coped with my jovial Dads humor and demands for red wines. The pool girls were hilarious in their fluro lycra...why they would want to dance up there we never quite worked out!! A once in a life time exp that we will never forget!!

we decided to visit after a while that we put this restaurant on our bucket list, and honestly, it could have stayed there for much longer.
we were escorted to a table near the windows, which were wide opened, but even if there was a table just outside, free and that remained empty for the while length f out lunch, we couldn't sit there....who knows why!
it was the good food month and they participated with the let's do lunch menu, a whole grilled spatchcock. we added a couple of entrees and sides with our mains, finishing with affogato e coffee.
the food was good, nothing to go crazy about though. the service was very impersonal, even if the waitress are wearing a very casual uniform. the ambience is nice, very bright and with beach related interiors. we are used to go in hatted restaurants, but we couldn't get why this place has 1 hat. the prices are a bit expensive as well.
we left with a question mark on our faces... probably we wouldn't suggest it as a must to go place, but we wouldn't say no to go back if other friends will organise a dinner there. probably we are just curious to see how it is during the dinner service...

We arrived and were paraded through the restaurant to our table - there was only one other occupied table. The food was non-descript, the waiters were ordinary, the menu had no creativity nor interest. The 'disco' style music boomed throughout the evening. There is nothing to recommend Uccello and it made us question why we didn't put a steak on the barbie and boiled up some pasta at home. Not to mention the expense - over $500 for 4 of us.

We visited Uccello with friends from the Uk. It was very hard to book a good place in Sydney on a Friday or Saturday night and, although we had to eat early, we were lucky to get a reservation. This restaurant is quite hard to find as it is tucked inside a building on George Street. It has an element of surprise when you enter as it is very spacious, light and airy. There are comfortable semi-circular booths along one side and, curiously, a swimming pool just below the far end of the restaurant. This was being used as a gathering place for the youtherati to enjoy early evening drinks and we were informed that it became a night club later in the evening.

Our food was excellent although my husband's lemon tart at the end was just that. A slice of tart on a plate with no attempt at presentation. Apart from the good food, we were treated to a parade of beautiful girls in very short skirts and dresses which kept our men entertained. There were a lot of 'beautiful people' dining there. The atmosphere was excellent as was the service. We would certainly return.
