A little bit expensive but really confortable.

It's cheaper than some hotel and looks like a hotel.

On the harbour Bridge and at 2min walk to the opera house

Nice place and friendly people

An excellent restaurant is near or you can have a drink at the bar in the hostel

My partner and I booked a private en-suite room here and it was clean, comfortable and quiet. It was really hot when we were here and you can go to reception and ask them to turn on your A/C which we did. No problem, they are all really friendly and happy to help.
We didn't use the shared facilities but it looked very well equipped. They also serve homemade cake/coffee at reception which we did use and it was all pretty great.
Ideal location for quick access to the rocks, train station/buses etc.

Hi Sam
Thanks for reviewing the hostel and glad you enjoyed your stay! This hostel deliberately includes a range of sustainability initiatives which have resulted in it running with half the carbon footprint of comparable properties. One of those is Air Con on demand so rooms aren't being cooled when they are empty or if the windows are open. Glad you were nice and cool though on a hot day!
Hope to see you again on any future trips to Sydney.

This YHA has an amazing view of the harbour, and in particular the Sydney Opera House. The hostel is built around an archeology site which is very interesting. Friendly staff, clean hotel.

The top level is a great place to relax.

I stayed here with my older sister and younger brother in a 4 bed mixed dorm room. The rooms were air conditioned, clean and came with a shared en-suite. Nothing fancy but enough space to feel comfortable.

There is a kitchen, fridge space, tv room, social area and a roof terrace with a spectacular view of the iconic Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, both of which are a stones throw from the hostel. Set in the heart of 'the Rocks' (the oldest area in Sydney) the hostel is built on an archeological site and evidence of the first settlers can be seen first hand.

The real value of this hostel is it's convenient location. All of Sydney is easily accessible from the transport hub of Sydney harbour and there are a mixture of old school and trendy bars in the local vicinity. Great value and great location!

Traveling New South Wales for fifteen days, ended our trip with three nights at this wonderful hostel in Sydney! Great history where it sits in the heart of The Rocks. Roof top patio that looks out to Sydney's incredible harbour, Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Spotless rooms that have AC. A variety of rooms to choose from. Great shared kitchen/social area, movie room and lockers to rent if that suits your needs. Fantastic location to many great pubs/wine bars, eateries, shopping and must see attractions. A great place to stay to catch a ferry for a harbour ride and/or to explore little towns by ferry. Just a bargain for just the location! Love that it is was also eco-friendly!

We stayed here for a couple of nights & can highly recommend. It's not fancy, but if you just want some chill-out space whilst storing your stuff - you can't go wrong. The rooms are basic, but the roof- top atrium view of the harbour is magnificent.... Perhaps, iconic?!?
For those that might care, there was no TV in our private double room, but you don't need one. There's a TV room if you disagree with me on that.
All within walking distance of the first pub in Australia, the first Irish Pub in Australia, the Rock's markets...

This was my 2nd YHA stay and again a good experience. The property is well located and easily reached from train station.the building is new and purpose built providing lovely light, amazing views and lovely open spaces.great for groups or solo travellers.my adult daughter and I stayed 1 night, cafe on site was appreciated.Comfortable lounge area in reception ideal for a coffee and the roof top amazing at sunset.Panoramic views of the Harbour and the opera House is immediately in front of you.We found the property very quiet and clean and enjoyed our stay in a double room with private facilities which included tea and coffee making. 2 good hotels on your doorstep making for easy dinning.very comprehensive communal kitchen should you want to cook. We would easily stay again and make sure we had multiple nights.
