We stayed for 3 night in a studio apartment. Very spacious with king bed, kitchen and laundry, they even provide laundry detergent! Very clean, comes with light housekeeping. We booked very early so got a very good rate! They do hold $100 security deposit for around 5 days after you check. It is about a 25 minute walk to Circular Quay or you can take free 555 shuttle bus which is supposed to come every 10 minutes, we waited for 25 minutes and gave up! You can walk to Darling Harbour, about 10 minutes. Lots of restaurant close by, Thai, Korean, Japanese... There is a Coles supermarket at Pitt Street & Goulburn, one block away. There is reception there until 11 pm, then security people are at the desk. Would highly recommend this place to anyone'!

Dear ylc25,

"Perfect stay" Wow, what a wonderful complement from such a senior reviewer and seasoned traveller.

I am thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us. It certainly sounds like you took advantage of our convenient location and surrounding restaurants.

With regards to your pre authorisation, It is actually your banking institution holding funds. They are normally released 7-10 working days from when the authorisation was originally processed.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Kind regards,
Rhys A.

We stayed at the Campbell St Meriton on a recent trip to Sydney. The development is quite new and so everything is clean and tidy and in good working order. The studio apartment was spacious enough to feel comfortable for a week's stay. The kitchenette and laundry were convenient. Front desk service was great: we arrived early and they were most helpful, allowing us to check-in and access the room straight away. Location is convenient for access the rest of the CBD. There was a slight mix-up over the credit card surcharge, but I'm hoping that'll be resolved soon. Also, don't expect a view unless you specifically pay for a room with such. We didn't do so, but was no bother as we weren't intending to spend a lot of time "at home" anyhow.

Dear swiss6,

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay.

I am pleased you enjoyed your weeks stay with us. Our apartments are brand new and designed for living making Meriton Campbell St an ideal accommodation option for anyone looking to stay 1 night or more.

For that special occasion I would recommend booking a Sky view apartment, these apartments have wonderful views west over the city and are very popular with our guests.

Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back some time soon.

Kind regards,
Rhys A.

Location was ok nothing special if you are looking something in city then it's not perfect .i stayed here for 5 nights view was terrible even though I was on 21st floor can't see anything but buildings in my face. First time in Australia, first time in Sydney. Not sure what to expect, but happy to have the trip start with a stay at Meriton Apartments. Front staff very accommodating and understanding of the needs of weary travelers. We arrived way before the check-in time but they let us into our apartment as soon as it was ready.

It was a very efficient set-up. Everything was very clean and looked very modern. The black/white/gray patterned carpeting looked classy. I was very impressed with the lay-out. Unlike in most hotels, condos, or apartments, where the bedroom is always by the window, at Meriton the bedroom was placed in the middle of the unit, away from the windows, and therefore away from all the street and traffic noise. The bedroom can be completely closed off with a translucent glass sliding door. The bed was large and quite comfortable.

There was a large and spacious living and dining area. The living area, which is the one situated close to the window, had a large and comfortable couch, two easy chairs, coffee table and a flat-screen TV. The dining area had a rectangular dining table set up for 6 people, a large, regular-sized home refrigerator (as opposed to the usual mini-refrigerators just good for a mini-bar), a microwave oven, a two-burner stove, a small counter and a sink; also an electric instant water heater, The kitchen is well-supplied with sufficient number of plates, bowls, mugs, glasses and cutlery, also cooking pots and pans, knives, chopping boards, cooking utensils, mittens, etc. Dish washing items are also provided (liquid detergent, sponge, towels). In short, everything that one can possibly need to ensure a comfortable stay. Also provided are packets of tea, coffee, sugar and sweeteners.

The closet in the bedroom is generously sized, with enough space for hanging, and shelves for folded items. There is also an extra tall but narrow closet with plenty of shelves located across the bedroom. A small safe is also provided, as well as an ironing board and iron. More importantly, there is a small laundry room with a washer and a dryer, and liquid detergent is provided as well. There is also a large sink if some hand-washing needs to be done. This laundry room is separated from the entry hall by an accordion door.

The bathroom has plenty of space, and behind the mirrors are more shelves, so much more than one can possibly need or use. Over-all the apartment is equipped for an extended stay, and one can even comfortably host maybe a cocktail party for as many as 20 people, or a sit-down dinner for 6. There is certainly enough cooking utensils if one is inclined to cook a meal, big or small.

On the negative side, not enough hangers are provided; the light switches are not very conveniently located. It seems the building is also close to the train tracks, because the whole day, while the city train is in operation, one constantly hears a rumbling sound; but this is only a problem if one is sensitive to noise and needs to take a nap during the day. Wi-fi is also not free. The rate is A$18/day or pay by the hour.

But the location is great as it is on the edge of Chinatown, and therefore in great proximity to some very good restaurants; it is walking distance to Darling Harbor and Central Station, as well as to some malls and food markets.

Absolutely perfect for our needs, great location,on edge of Chinatown easy walk to Darling Harbour. 5 min walk from Central Station. Free 555 bus stops round the corner.
Everything in the studio is either brand new or extremely well maintained and of an excellent quality.
Reception staff were all very helpful.
We booked this apartment some months ahead and it was actually cheaper than the YHA !! .
It was useful to have free wifi in the lobby but this was limited to just 2 half hour sessions per 5 days. Longer free useage would have made our stay perfect, but McD's is only a 7-8 minute walk away.
Would definitely stay if we return to Sydney

The laudation of this hotel by fellow writers is fully justified. After reading all this praise on Tripadvisor, we expected a very high standard and were not disappointed.

We stayed in room 2109 from 3 – 8 December and we will stay at the Meriton again if we are in Sydney. It’s clean, roomy and if you have a little boy, you can get a roll-away bed. Unfortunately, this sets you back another AUD 50 per night which we found too much. Next time we will take a room with a sofa which can be converted into a bed.

This particular room was absolutely quiet, even with airconditions running.

Instead reiterating everything by other people giving positive feedback, I will attach a few photos.
Hint: take a room high up and ask if you can get one not facing another building and you will have great views over the city from from your private balcony.

The complex does not have a restaurant, but that's not a problem as there are many eateries only a stonethrow away. Chinatown is just across the road.

There is a direct bus along George Street to Circular Quai, and the Central (train) Station is only 10 minutes away.

Room Tip: Rooms high up, with balcony and not facing another building will not dissapoint.

We stayed on the 28th floor and had a studio apartment. Beautiful, clean and new apartments...great kitchen with all appliances, a laundry area and gorgeous bathroom!!! The most comfortable bed with good quality linens...flat screen TV , DVD player, and I pod docking station ....couldnt fault these apartments for the price we paid....bottom end of George Street, not quite as posh as nearer the harbour but place buzzing with atmosphere. Loads of shops, restaurants, cafes, near to Central Station, Paddys marketm, chinatown and Darling Harbour...
Welcome efficient reception and a grand lobby to sit in if waiting for taxi or transport.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor, for the best views of the city.
