We stayed in this Fabulous Contemporary Hotel, the rooms a beautifully done and the bed was sooooo comfy. The Darling is perfectly situated, just a short stroll from Darling Harbour, restaurants, nightlife etc making its location away form harbour noise! The selection of restaurants is superb and the boys in the hotel bar are fun to watch mixing cocktails and our night cap! There are so many interesting things to do our concierge Dean was fantastic organising our excursions, and Theatre tickets. I would defiantly stay here again........thank you Darling team.

Room Tip: Any room would not disappoint. All are spacious but if you need lots of space go for a suite. If you...

We've stayed at The Darling a few times since they've opened and every time we have been incredibly impressed. The Darling is our go to Sydney hotel now, even tho we reside just across the bridge on the North Shore The Darling is a great place to stay when we just want a night away.

The last time were here we were upgraded to a Jewel Suite which we loved. The room was massive with a separate living area. Bathroom had a great deep soak tub with it's own dressing space. Service is impeccable and no request was too hard and attended to straight away. We make use of the concierge every time to book our dinner, spa and entertainment and he always gets everything organised in an extremely quick and timely manner.

I frequent the spa often even when not staying at the hotel and it is definitely one of my favourite day spas in Sydney! The interior is dark and sexy with a great relaxing ambience, make sure you make use of the Turkish spa room! Very relaxing! We also love Sokyo for dinner and drinks, the bar staff are incredibly knowledgable and creative. I didn't find anything that appealed to me on the menu so the bartender whipped something up based on what I liked and I was presented with the most delicious orange blossom cocktail topped with fairy floss! Yum!

The Darling is beautifully decorated and well thought through and a fantastic addition to The Star, without a doubt the best hotel in Sydney. Just about to book another stay in March and looking extremely forward to our upcoming visit :) See you again soon!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a Jewel Suite, it's worth the money! Huge with beautiful bathrooms and great views of...

We stayed in the 'Darling' room at the hotel. The room is absolutely stunning, beautiful interior, great lighting and an amazing view. Power blinds and great temperature control make it easy to make yourself at home. A very..european style connection between the bathroom and bedroom as there is literally no wall there.

We needed to cook some popcorn so we rang reception and asked if there was a microwave available somewhere, they told us not exactly, but they would sort something out for us.

20 minutes later we have a knock at our door from an extremely excited employee who has brought us a microwave up 7 whole floors to our room at 11pm. I asked him where he will put it, he says the bathroom sink will do just fine. He proceeded to place the microwave upon/in the sink on an angle so it wobbled a bit. I asked him if this was some kind of safety concern and he assured me it wasn't with such conviction I was scared to question him, he looked me straight in the eyes with a large smile.

I considered electrocuting myself and suing the hotel but decided against it. Was a great stay nonetheless.

Dear Dinosaur_lover69,

Each and every one of our rooms is designed to offer comfort in every way possible; our in room system allows you to control every aspect of the room from the touch of the TV remote control.

We are happy you enjoyed the popcorn and we will definitely look at a more convenient location for the microwave next time. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Thank you for sharing!

Until we meet again…

I've stayed at this hotel a few times now, but normally in one of the suites. This latest visit was to a king room on the 7th floor. At the reception we were asked whether we wanted a view, which we clearly answered yes to. Not sure their version and our version of a view marry up!

When we got in the room all we could really see out of the window was the surrounding roof tops which was a real shame as you can get a rather nice view over to the harbour from this hotel.

However, the room was lovely and the bed was very very nice.

But, and this is something that I noted when we stayed here previously, the showers are terrible. They are falling apart/shower head isn't held properly by the bracket and the hot water literally takes 4-5mins to come through. It's really annoying. So if you are getting ready to go out (as we were) aim off for the wait or you'll end up late for your show or meal (in our case).

Room Tip: You need to be above the 11th floor to get a view, and be prepared for the hot water issue.

This Hotel is awesome. The check in is fast and efficient. The bell boys and Concierge are fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. We booked a junior suite and the view was amazing. Loved the big bed and the linen was so much better than any other hotels in Sydney it was smooth and comfortable. Bathroom was huge and the giant spa was great to relax in. The TV was huge. Only issue was the internet was a rip off $25 bucks per day. It's free in the mall down the road. This hotel is so nice you wouldn't think it was related to the Astral Hotel 2 totally different hotels.

Thank you for sharing your recent Darling experience with us.

One of the things which makes the Darling extra special, is the attention paid to every little detail. From the exclusively designed Darling beds to the extra soft Plum bed sheets.

It sounds like you stayed in one of our very luxurious Jewel Spa Suites, we are so happy you enjoyed the view! Perhaps next time you may like to book one of our seasonal packages, keep an eye out, for that free Wifi Inclusion.

Well worth a visit.
I had a hot stone massage which was a first for me, but loved the experience.
Everything from the friendly welcome from the staff to the fruit platter afterwards... and of course the massage which was one of the best I've had in a while. ALSO - Make use of the hamam! It's a Turkish bath/hot room which was THE way to slowly transition from massage bliss back to the real world. Take 20 minutes...

If position is what you want then The Darling which has only been opened two years ago is on the wrong side of the harbour and a hotel near The Rocks would be your best choice. If you like a gamble in the evening then this is the hotel for you as the casino and restaurants are tripping distance from your hotel. Of course the 20 minute boat ride which passes under Sydney harbour bridge to take you to the ferry terminal and The Rocks is worth the trip as the views are fabulous.

Enter this hotel and the minimalist décor smacks you in the face. A plethora of various marbles and granite assault you but all beautifully done. The reception staff are very courteous and helpful, but the concierge desk is usually unmanned and you often have to wait for the roving concierge to arrive before you can get your questions answered.

We had a suite with a view of the harbour and a distant view of the bridge. The view is rather overshadowed by an extremely large and ugly sports complex, so make sure your room is on a high floor so your view is over the top of this hideous building.

The lounge is separated by a wall with two doors which allow you to close off the bedroom. Back to back televisions are on either side of the wall. There was a complimentary bottle of bubbly waiting for us and 1 solitary apple on an arty plate. Very minimalist.

Comfortable beds and a separate dressing room off the ample sized bathroom. The hotel seems to have a problem with water pressure. The shower works fine, but trying to fill up the bath took 30 minutes, so make sure you have plenty of time if you want a soak.

Service in the bar was good and the restaurant on the ground floor is extremely buzzy at night.

Overall a very pleasant stay and I won money in the casino. Yippee!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor with a view

Dear ExplorerLondonUK,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us.

The award winning lobby design, which mixes a vast selection of marbles and unique design pieces, back dropped by the buzzing Sydney hot spot Sokyo, is only a part of the Darling experience.

Our expertise lies in the detail, which you may have noticed, by staying in the Jewel Spa Suite, from the Molton Brown amenities to the distinct exclusive Darling Plum Robes. And of course that complimentary bottle of bubbly…

We do hope you had time to enjoy some of the amazing restaurants on offer here at The Darling, such as the Three Hatted Momofuku Restaurant. I’m sure we can catch the roving Concierge upon your next visit to arrange something very special.

Until we meet again…
