Owner description: A cliff top coastal walk, the Bondi to Coogee walk extends for six km in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The walk features stunning views, beaches, parks, cliffs, bays and rock pools. The beaches and parks offer a place to rest, swim or a chance to eat at one of the cafes, hotels, restaurants or takeaways. All beaches offer picnic shelters, electric barbecues, play areas, kiosks, toilets and change-rooms. The walk is not difficult, there are medium gradient paths and several staircases with occasional seating. It takes about two hours to complete the Bondi to Coogee Beach section of the walk and another hour and a half if you choose to continue to Maroubra.

The walk isn't hard but gives spectacular views. Coffee at Tamarama Beach is great and lunch at Clovelly is awesome.
We were lucky enough to see whales. Wow!

Around NOvember there is an outdoor art exhibition along the route with some amazing sculptures. Never far from a cafe, public toilet or water point. Dedicated path - some steps but OK for anyone of average fitness. You can pick up a public bus at either end (or at each beach along the way) to return to the city or Bondi Junction where there is good train service to the city and beyond. About 8km one way.

You could start at Bronte Beach (catch a bus from the city or from Bondi Station) and end up at Bondi Beach. Once a year, there's the Sculptures by the Sea which is rather interesting. Grab a coffee or some hot chips from the shops nearby and enjoy the walk!

Hello,

Thank you for the review. Bondi to Bronte is a good alternative to the Bondi to Coogee walk. Sculptures are displayed at the end of October right through November every year.

I've been to many countries and several beaches, Bondi, while looking typical, is somehow very different to the others.
It has a very unique culture attached to it, which can be seen in the vibe around the area, type of people that hangs around and the activities that people do when they come.
If you want to surf, there's plenty of sunshine and waves, and if you don't like the water, the coastal walks are beautiful too. If you hate both, then go to the center of Bondi and enjoy good food and do some shopping.

We did the walk in reverse. Took a bus to Coogee beach, hung out at the beach for a bit and then started our walk.
We realized that the reverse walk had more of walking down stairs than up - so if that's important to you, consider doing the reverse walk.
Give yourself at least 60-90 minutes more than you'd estimate - you need the extra time to a) ooh and aah over some distinctive scenery b) stop very frequently for pictures c) linger at an unexpected spot.
You will encounter lots of lovely beaches and rocky outcrops until you see the distinctive crescent of Bondi beach.
Dress in layers - we did the walk in winter, but were soon stripping down layers as we walked.
Carry water with you - some if the beaches have outdoor showers and water fountains, but there are stretches where having your drinking water source would be helpful.
The path can get really crowded - if possible go early in the morning or later in the afternoon.
Finally, don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen.
