I , along with 5 others stayed in this hotel for 4 days over New Year, it was amazing.
The beds were so comfortable , the rooms were very clean and the staff were excellent.
Great place and close to everything.
There is also wifi in the rooms which is great to be able to stay in touch with family back home, especially new year.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 3rd floor and we had rooms overlooking Sydney harbour bridge and the opera house, w...

We stayed at the shangri la for 4 nights. We paid for an horizon club room, which meant access to the club lounge which supplies stunning unbeatable views over the harbour.
You can't get a better located hotel in Sydney. In the beautiful rocks area within a few minutes walk to the harbour, shops and lovely restaurants.
The breakfast is stunning. plenty of choice. We had an early flight on our last day, One of the staff had a lovely breakfast made up for us to take away. Very nice little touches. Service is 2nd to none! Very professional from beginning to end. I would recommend paying the extra and staying in the horizon club. You have your own check in on the 32nd floor. Free drinks and nibbles between 6 and 8pm with amazing views. The blu bar is really good-try the fire hazard cocktail! It will be the best cocktail you ever have.

An excellent visit. My wife and I had arranged dinner in the city for our anniversary and I chose the Shangri-La to stay the night. The service was excellent, room was great (and bigger than many other hotel rooms in Sydney). An excellent experience with nothing to fault. Thanks to the team at the Shangri-La. I also am a fan of the Harts Pub attached to the Shangri-La, a good selection of craft beers on tap.

Beautiful rooms with incredible views of the bridge and harbour. Very clean, easy check-in. Breakfast selection and quality was superb -- cramped environment in an interior room with no views... but really good food!! It would be a 5 star but the Sydney Hyatt is better, a more genuine feel with a warmer feeling and exterior pool on the roof. The Shangri-La is in a great location and our family of 8 would recommend -- but it's a bit "hygienic". It's a kind of stiff environment for a family and the pool is below average. If you are going to Sydney, book the Hyatt. If it's not available, this is a good choice. Breakfast and views are superb.

Room Tip: Get the highest possible for the best views

My new wife and I stayed at the Shangri-La Sydney for our honeymoon from the US (January honeymoon to avoid the cold Midwest!). The extra money for the Horizon Club stay is well worth it. The Horizon Club experience (even for a holiday traveler) is well worth the extra costs. The Horizon Club offers lots of food, amazing views, first class service, and an amazing view. The extra money spent for the Horizon Club is easily offset by the food/views/service that you will receive. Additionally, the hotel is in a great location, it's footsteps from the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb (a must!) and in the heart of the Rocks nightlife district. We would definitely go back to Sydney again, and if we did...we would stay at the Shangri-La Horizon Club again. Worth every penny.

Room Tip: Book the Horizon Club! Worth the extra costs just in the food and drinks that you can get there! P...

bad:
stud 1 nite, check in , standing in line in the lobby overcrowded with arrivals at 2pm a check in attendant not speaking sufficient english and very hard to understand and unfriendly seemed stressed .
only 2 lifts working whilst the hotel is almost running on capacity,
top bar on level 36 closes 1pm last drink served 11.30 pm on Saturdays, pool stinks, sun deck directly over Cahill freeway. bar fridge $8 for a can of coke
looking for breakfast.. better walk to the rocks as there is a endless wait on the brekky room withy the food on the buffet being pretty average to bad
check out... same as check in , whilst one desk was unattended, and concierge desk ignored us

good:
clean room, room service prompt, bring ur USB to screen ur own stuff.

This is an excellent hotel.

I stayed there for only one night, but if you read my other reviews you will know that I'm a stickler for detail. Shangi-La had it down to a tee.

The staff is predominantly Asian, understandably, and that's probably why their service is so good - Asian hotels really know how to do it well.

The bed is sensational and the room was very well equipped.

Happy to recommend and return.
