Excellent location, staff and facilities.
Staff are friendly and you are warmly greeted at all times. No question or request is treated frivilously.
Although this may well be part of the training, it is relaxing to stay in an environment where staff personal attitudes or problems are submerged in the pursuit of customer comfort.

Just on our last night of a 4 night stay. We've got the most stunning view of Sydney Opera House, The Rocks & Sydney Bridge. The rooms are lovely and the bed is the best ever .... My hubby wants to take it home with him. The quality of food is excellent and the staff very polite & courteous. The only downside its a steep climb up (and down) to all the sights ..... Hence the perfect views! This really wouldn't be good for elderly persons or anyone needing wheelchair access unless you are willing to taxi everywhere. Sydney is a great place and it is so easy to reach Central Quay from this hotel ..... From here there are regular ferries to the beaches of Manly & buses every few minutes to the world famous Bondi Beach. All in all a really excellent choice of hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Opera House & Sydney Harbour bridge ..... We had to pay a further...

My husband booked a Premier Grand Harbour View room for our wedding night. The room and view was spectacular. Unfortunately, we were not provided with anything special as promised by management when my husband booked the room. This was very disappointing, as compared multiple luxury hotels in Sydney and specifically inquired about this.

To add to the disappointment, when I went for a shower, the water wasn't running. We quickly called reception and within 10mins a technician had fixed the issue which was great. But the whole experience of having a stranger in our bathroom whilst I stood around in a bathrobe was a bit of a mood killer. Oh well...

Room Tip: Honeymooners - make sure you check with reception on check in that your promised amenities will be p...

I wish we could have stayed here for longer. The hotel has a great location, short walk from the opera house and the circular quay. The breakfast is outstanding with fantastic freshly prepared food. The staff were always friendly and attentive and view simply cannot be beaten. Especially, if you go for one of the panoramic corner rooms.

Room Tip: Try and get one of the corner rooms that has the panoramic shaped windows and you will probably neve...

We have stayed at a number of Shangri-Las over the years. It is always a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

This recent stay was no different. Service is always first class, especially as we choose the Horizon club option. It adds to the cost, but it also adds to the "specialness" of the experience.

On this occasion the staff at the Horizon club were even better than usual - friendly, attentive and professional.

The Shangri-La and Horizon Club aren't "cheap" options, but the quality and service make up for the cost, in my view.

If only for the view, the Shangri-La Hotel is worth every penny. We were tempted to look out the window and gaze at the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge for our entire time, but of course we didn't. Great location and short walk down to Circular Quay and the central part of The Rocks. (The hills are fairly steep, so anyone with mobility issues should take the location into consideration. If walking is not an issue, then you'll get a good work out!) So much to see and do and so many great restaurants in the area that we did not sample the hotel's restaurant. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Loved Shangri-La Hotel Sydney!
