I stayed for 5 nights at this hotel in July on my first visit to Sydney. It was in a great location on the edge of Chinatown so the area had character whilst being within walking distance to most places. Circular Quay was half an hour walk away but there was a free shuttle bus.
My little room was well designed, modern and clean with a good supply of toiletries, beverages and information about Sydney and World Square. My only niggle would be that the towels were changed every day when there was a sign claiming an eco policy where only towels left on the floor would be cleaned.

The staff at this hotel were warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, Samuel was particularly patient and had a lovely smile.
The free popcorn and cold water in reception was a lovely bonus.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights as I was attending a conference at Redfern Technology Park. This hotel is very close to Central a 10 walk. 5 mins to Darling Harbour. Shopping Centre right across the road.

Room Tip: I was on the 5th floor

To start with, work booked me into a twin room rather than a double, so being stuck in a single bed with my feet hanging off the end wasn't the greatest start. Having said that, the beds were quite plush and comfortable, and the room was neat (although a little basic, but that's to be expected). The hotel is next door to a 'love hotel', but there was no unseemly people hanging around so as long as the idea doesn't bother you it shouldn't be a problem. Location is fantastic as it's right across from World Square, which is pretty cool. The walls are a little thin, as I could hear a bunch of kids stuffing around in the next room. On top of that, I got a call from one of these kids which woke me up and was really annoying. I called reception to report it, but not sure if anything happened. All in all a pretty ordinary stay, but not necessarily the fault of the hotel so perhaps consider some other reviews along with this one.

Stayed at the Ibis just one night to connect with a flight the next morning. Check in was cheerful and efficient. Interior area looked as if it has had a recent freshen up with paint and new carpet. The room was clean with basic furnishings, surprisingly spacious for an Ibis, and everything worked. Comfortable bedding. A bit at the "seedy" end of Pitt St, but an easy location to access most of Sydney's main attractions, Main shopping, Darling Harbour, Rocks etc. Close to Central Station so just a short walk for the airport train.
Probably just a bit basic for a longer stay but for few nights I imagine would tick most boxes for most people(especially if on a budget). The rate I received made it a good value. A particular mention of the friendly staff.

Just a one night stay enroute OS, within easy walking distance from Central station (handy if your on the airport train to catch your connecting flight). plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants on the door step if you need something. The rooms are clean and tidy, I had a queen bed which was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was small but functional. Only concern for me was the heating seemed to be central with no ability to change the thermostat which for me as someone who likes it a little cooler made things a little uncomfortable. There was a wall control for the aircon but this had no impact on the room temperature. Overall I guess you get what you pay for, and this was the basics. You could probably get a better room for the same price but in terms of location and access it has that going in its favour.

Room Tip: The higher floors will have less street noise.
