The hotel is cramped, facilities very average.
there was a split in the shower rose so you ended up getting soaked even if you didn't want to be.
The airconditioning did not work from the wall control so constantly had to call reception to get it overridden
No sound insulation, constantly hearing when the neighbours flush their toilet
Location good, staff friendly.
It needs an upgrade

Room Tip: not sure how this is possible, they are all tiny.

Have stayed in many motels before but this has to be the worst! On the first night, checked in at 10pm and got told the room we booked was unavailable (they accidentally overbooked the room) so instead of getting a queen bed, my partner and I got 2 singles and the worst thing was that we didn't even get told this prior to checking in! No phone call nor email!! Next thing, when I think of room service, the meal gets delivered to the room, but here, you ring up and when your food is ready, you go down to reception to collect it....!! Last thing, our aircon was working fine the first night, then the night After, it would not allow us to put it to aircon mode but only fan or heater so the room was very stuffy. Would not stay here again!!

Well, given I know that IBIS is not 4-5 star I had realistic expectations. On arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room sorted quickly and we were able to go to our room quickly. Room was on the first floor near the lifts, so in my previous experience from other hotels this was going to be a noisy experience especially given the location and the fact the Bledisloe Cup was on in Sydney. I had visions of loud noisy street, lots of drunk yahooing, the pinging of the lift arriving and sirens all night. I was totally wrong room was clean and tidy, it was quiet, especially given its location to the list.

Was pleasantly surprised.

At night we were going out for dinner and were offered umbrellas as it was pouring, this was a lovely touch which was most unexpected. Well done guys.

Next day they held our bags for us at no charge and again we got an umberella, this time we had to ask (but this was not an issue).

Overall, a good value for money place to stay. very central and convenient.

Stayed here for a couple if nights. Good location, very basic hotel but that's what you get with an ibis (not as good as other ibis hotels we'd stayed at, everything just felt so squished and 'budget'). Staff were friendly, but the 'bar' at reception isn't great. Lots of places around to choose for food options.
