“Good location”

Stayed for 6 nights in this hotel, very good value and good location. Breakfast provided in your room, this saved going out and finding somewhere to eat in the morning. The hotel is on Elizabeth street and the free bus 555 runs past it down to circular quay. Very noisy outside the hotel and lots of shops and cheap eating places nearby. Our room wasn't made up on 2 days, luckily we weren't messy people so tidied our own room up ! If you stay here make sure you look out of the window at dusk to see the bats flying past

When we arrive there was hair on the cover of the bed....
The fridge contained food of another customer.
The floor of the kitchen stuck.
The internet tariff was so expensive (11$ one hour, 22$ a day), that we can think that Australia was an under developped country.

Location is fantastic and so are the rooms. We booked deluxe 2 bedroom apartment and it was specious. Service was very good- staff was well mannered, very helpful & attentive. We reached 4 to 5 hours earlier than normal check-in hours and the staff allowed us to use coffee room to relax till our room was ready. Excellent place to stay if you are travelling with small children. There is a convenience store below and this is useful if you wish to cook in the apartment.

Extremely rude and impersonal front desk attendants, and the hotel manager is just as arrogant, if not worse-

Definitely do not recommend the hyde park inn if you are planning a seamless hotel stay, 3 different rooms in 3 nights, with no apology, and not to mention the blood spots on the quilt cover in the third room.

The closest I got to a smile or even a civil conversation at this place was with the hotel's bell boy who assisted in moving our luggage from one room to the next on both days.

I am a Sydney resident and quite honestly I'm disgusted and embarrassed with the service I received at Hyde Park Inn.

If you are a visitor to Sydney I recommend looking at other accomodation as to stay here and receive the same level of service that I received would leave you thinking that my wonderful city is nothing but trash!

Room Tip: Book into a larger chain hotel for the same price

We were a little unsure about staying at this hotel as we'd read some mixed reviews, but its location and good price was the determining factor. We found the staff to be extremely helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Having heard that we'd been ripped off by the taxi driver who drove us to the hotel from Sydney Airport - they arranged for a taxi driver they knew to take us to the airport at the conclusion of our stay. Our room was spacious and clean and had a good view over Hyde Park. The hotel is ideally located for the harbour and opera house, and some excellent Asian restaurants can be found just behind the hotel.

We stayed 5 nights in the Hyde Park Inn. I'd echo most of what I've read here for the Hyde Park Inn. Fantastic location at Museum station, with rooms overlooking the ANZAC monument in the park. Prices realtively reasonable for Sydney, but expensive nevertheless by other city's standards. Everything functioned properly in our room. Smallish bathroom (shower not bath), but adequate. Continental breakfast placed in the fridge the day before, suited us fine (juice, fruit salad, cereal, toast, etc).
Sure, some city noise but what do you expect in a vibrant, cosmopolitan and young metro area. Upgrading work going on when we were there at the end of March, but no noise or other disturbance to us.
Ridiculous price for internet like elsewhere, so didn't bother on principle. Used my laptop off site or one of the internet cafes round the corner on Liverpool St.
We love Sydney, and would stay here again on our next visit.
Watching the nightly spectacle of the flying foxes buzzing the square, from the tiny balcony, is a memory that will stay with us.

The location is wonderful with the museum train stop right across the street. There is a monorail stop fairly close by at the World Square. Our two-bedroom unit overlooked the ANZAC memorial in Hyde Park. It was a bit noisy and hopefully the renovation will include thicker windows.

Given the location in Sydney, the price was great for us.

The front desk were friendly although a bit weird about using their "business center" computers for internet access. The laundry was located on the ground floor, but not easy to find.

It was an enjoyable stay here and I would return.
