The hotel located in a good location, and all the things are good except for the night shift staff's services.I went to sydney with my other two friends from oversea during the weekend, and we went out for drink on Saturday night. When we went back to the hotel, it was around 4 o'clock. The security did not let us get in because only two of us checked in. Then I asked how much do I need to pay for extra person because we did not know that, and during the check in, no one remind us for that. The staff was like:' Only two of you could get in or you could go back for drink.', or 'you should know the law, because you are Australian'. I can't believe that he was so rude, all his spokens was not a hotel staff should said. It was rude and unrespect, we went together but not randomly bring a person back. After an hour, the rude staff told us that we could pay extra $60 for extra person. But I am just wondering why couldn't he said this at first when we asked for that? The night shift staff is an asian, and we are asian as well. I could feel the discriminate, but don't know why. Strongly not recommend. It is a really worst experience in this trip.

I stopped here before having my operation and my husband stayed whilst he visited. We had a harbour view room (not opera house or bridge) and it had everything we could have needed. There was a small kitchenette with microwave which was also an oven and grill also a fridge. The bathrooms could do with updating but they were spotless. The only downside is they don't have a cafe or room service but there is a supermarket across the road and lots of Cafes etc close by. I will definitely stay again.

Large, clean room, nice view, kitchenette don't need much more.
There is a woolworths supermarket and BWS across the road for supplies, the street is full of cafes and restaurants which also leads into kings cross which is only a 5-10 minute walk.
I would definitely stay here again.
Only downfall, was that we stayed in a Queen Harbour view room, but were located in a room on the rear of the building so although yes we were facing a harbour, we were on the opposite side of the building to the harbour bride and opera house, this was the only downfall, as we sort of expected a different view.

Room Tip: Remember that although you might book a harbour view room, it may not be facing the harbour bridge a...

Excellent value for money with easy access to the heart of Sydney. The reception staff were always extremely helpful. The no-frills room was clean and comfortable. Great for a city stay at a good price.

We stayed for a week in a room with a harbour view. The rooms are small and could use a little updating, but they are clean and well maintained. It is very nice to have the kitchen as we saved quite a bit of money eating in the hotel. There is a large grocery store across the street to help stock the kitchen. It is a short walk to the Kings Cross train station, but you have to walk through a bit of a sleazy part of town to get there. Nobody bothers you and I did feel safe, but you might not want to take kids by the prostitutes and sex shops. There are many nice restaurants and cafes very close, so you don't have to worry about that. We went to the Gypsy Expresso for coffee and muffins every day, it was around the corner. You can easily walk to the Botaniclal Gardens, Opera House, and Harbour. The bottom line is that this isn't a luxury hotel. It is jut a place to stay, but we didn't fly all the way to Sydney to sit in the room! If you want luxury, you have to pay the price. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. There was one lady who gave my husband a hard time about wanting additional pillows, but everyone else was very nice and cheerful.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with a view if you want one.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights on a week-long visit to Sydney. It is well-connected for beach walks, botanical gardens, and a 15-20 minutes to Harbour Bridge. The room needed a refresh but was comfortable and a good size. The area where it is located (Elizabeth Bay) is a wonderful well-kept neighbourhood with good eating options and lots of interesting shops. Highly recommended for those that want to stay a bit outside of central Sydney but want easy access to it as well as the beach walks. There is also a kitchenette which we didn't utilise but would be convenient for longer stays.

Room Tip: Well worth paying the extra for the Harbour View room - fantastic sunsets.

There were some good things about this hotel. It's located a quick walk to the ocean, tons of bars and restaurants, clean rooms, etc. I had a view of the opera house from my room.

That all being said, I would not stay here again. The feel of the room really would make the Motel 6 look like a 5 star hotel. No atmosphere whatsoever, rinky-dink shower, rough/small towels, noisy appliances.
