A beautiful apartment, magnificent views, close to everything.....you could not ask for more when you visit Sydney. We stayed in a apartment on the 12th floor overlooking Darling Harbour. A short walk over the bridge to town, or catch the light rail just over the road. This apartment is very well set up with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large lounge dining, excellent kitchen supplied with extras to make cooking easy. And don't forget the pool area, absolutely fantastic!

Room Tip: We had an apartment overlooking Darling Harbour

My family and I recently (June 2014) stayed at a serviced apartment on the 12th Floor, One Darling Harbour, 50 Murray Street. The apartment was fantastic with wonderful views over Darling Harbour and the Maritime Museum. One of the best possible locations in Sydney. It has a wonderful large balcony, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with combined dining, living area and open plan kitchen. We thorougly enjoyed it, with a 5 minute walk to the Sydney Imax, 15 minute walk to the Opera House and Circular Quay. The owners are also very helpful. Next time we are in Sydney on a family holiday, this will be where we want to stay!

My family and I (5 people) enjoyed our stay in a very comfortable privately owned apartment on the 12th floor of the hotel. There was plenty of space, and the couch converted into a comfortable bed for our fifth family member. The furnishings were good quality, and the incise placed around the apartment was a nice touch. The pantry was well stocked before we got there with the basics which was very helpful after we had already driven for 5 hours to get down here from Coffs Harbour. The 3D Apple TV was a good inclusion, and the three TVs in the apartment was very handy considering the age-gaps in our family.

The views of the harbour were stunning and the apartment was in close walking distance to shops ( inc. Movenpick and the Lindtt Chocolate Cafe!!!). A very nice find!

I was amazed to find there was ZERO ventilation in this smoking room, with the result that the room stank of smoke and sleep was hard. I realise that as a smoker I can't expect anything better than basic, but a window that opened wouldn't be hard and to ensure zero airing smacks of vindictiveness by management. The room itself was rather basic with hardly any decoration. Staff were friendly, and other areas fine, but....

We had booked a privately owned and managed apartment at the Grand Mercure and were just informed that the managing board or someone has changed these from short term to long term rentals only. I am now scrambling to find alternative lodgings. If you are booked for a short term stay, check with your rental agent. The owner we were renting from, or so we have been told, is subject to "legal action' for trying to continue to do short term rentals.

Not sure if these apartments are still managed by Mercure. My wife and I booked INDEPENDENTLY with the owner of this apartment:

www.sydneyskylineviews.com

The apartment is very well located - see other reviews, with all transport links nearby, easy to get to the airport (train + tram) and the views are excellent. We were also treated to a firework show in Darling Harbour which we watched havi ng dinner on the balcony.

Sabine, who manages the apartment is very helpfull as are the rest of the family who help out. Nothing too much trouble. The apartment itself is newly refurbished to a very high standard with all you could want including broadband, flat screen TV and Blueray player. Oh, and there's free city centre secure parking underneath!

To be highly recommended.
