“Great location and nice hotel”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

We stayed here for 2 nights in mid October so we could see an event at ANZ stadium. THe location of the hotel is great for access to the city, waterfront and public transport. The hotel was nice, and staff attended to our needs especially at 3am in the morning. The taxi ride from the airport was an absolute rip off as most Sydney taxis are, but absolutely not hotels fault. This was our second stay here and we would come again.

about this time last year i booked for the 2012 Christmas Dinner. I have just (a YEAR LATER) had my credit card charged for the 2013 Christmas Dinner!! Once was more than enough - this means that have kept my credit card details ever since and have now made a completely unauthorised charge. I have had to chase with up with my bank AND had to cancel my credit card. When I booked this last year I raised a concern regrading the security of my credit card details and was assured it was safe. Obviously not!!

The hotel is located in Darling Harbour, one of the most popular city spots that attract tourists and locals alike to the shops, restaurants, and maritime museums. From the hotel to the central train station and paddy's market is about 10 minutes walk. It also takes about 10-15 minutes walk to the city centre - Pitt street and George street shopping malls.
Breakfast is free, hence you can eat as much as you want from the buffet or continental breakfast. Depending on your room location, you can enjoy the city view, especially by by night..its stunning. The rooms are big and spacious. I noticed the cleaners do not clean the rooms until mid afternoon or so.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side enjoy the view of sunrise and city sky scrappers.

At $419 a night you might ordinarily expect a few little extra's - but not during this stay. On the good side - the suite was large and well laid out for a business trip, and the staff really friendly. On the not so good side - the minibar was bare (only beer, water, juice and coke). No spirits or small bottles of wine for weary business travellers (only full size bottles!). No moisturiser in the bathroom, and no in room free wifi - $24 a night and the network was terrible. You could only access it in one point in the room. To top it all off, it seemed someone had been cooking something potent in the restaurant and a wet cabbage like aroma had permeated all the hallways. At least the views were nice when you get outside for air!

Stayed for five nights. Glad we had harbour view. Excellent location handy for many attractions. Excellent restaurants close by. Spacious room with two double beds. Staff all pleasant, helpful and friendly. Breakfast is excellent. Loved the fresh squeezed orange juice. Shame our cups and glasses were not washed every day. Need to improve on the coffee served from the machine for breakfast, barista coffee no better. I know beds are an individual preference, but found bed a little uncomfortable and hard.

All in although, would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Upgrade to harbour view room
