I often stay in Sydney and love this apartment hotel for "special occasion" breaks. It is definitely worth paying the extra for a spectacular harbour view suite. OK, it is not cheap, but it is the best address in Sydney, and the apartments are spacious and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds.

We didn't eat in the hotel as there are countless stunning restaurants in close proximity.

This property is 5+ stars. I just wish I could afford to stay there more often.

The highest recommendation!!

What a terrific experience! I am a return guest and have been staying at the Quay Grand Suites three years in a row. I've been staying in a one bedroom on the harbor and have loved every moment. Each time, I've called room service and received really excellent service! The people on staff are very helpful and extremely pleasant! The location of the Quay Grand Suites could not be better as I am have been so close to the ferry wharves, the train station, taxis, and buses. My experience at the Quay Grand Suites has been sheer perfection in a gorgeous Sydney, Australia!!!

This is a beautiful apartment style hotel. So roomy and comfortable and hard to beat the location. Right next to Circular Quay for all of your transportation needs. We had a fantastic time here in Sydney. I would love to come back here again and again. There is a grocery store within 5 minutes walk. So close to so many things to do. The Sydney Opera House is 5 minutes away. Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. Do yourself a favor and stay at this wonderful property. We traveled on the ferries to Darling Harbour and Manly Beach. So easy. We also did the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. What a view from the top. You should do it! Sydney is a beautiful city with so much to do and see.

Out of 5 weeks we spent on the Eastern Coast of Australia, Sydney was our favorite, and the Grand Quay Suites was a big part of that experience. We loved being right on the Harbour, we loved watching all the ferry activity, we loved the vibrance and energy of the City, we loved being so close to the Sydney Bridge (yes, we did the Bridge Climb and would recommend that!) and the Opera House (we recommend taking the tour). The Grand Quay Suites is so located that much of the City opens up to you by foot. The Rocks, the restaurants, the Opera House, the Bridge, and of course the ferries will take you to the Zoo, Manly Beach, Bonzi Beach.......wherever. Then you can return to this beautiful apartment, have dinner out or decide to dine in with your full kitchen. In the morning, the same choices await. Prepare a nice breakfast in your kitchen, or order up a wonderful Australian brekky from room service!
Having laundry facilities available was wonderful after 3 weeks of traveling. All-in-all, the Grand Quay is somewhere that we would return!

Stayed here with our 4 children in July in a two bedroom harbour view apartment. Check-in was friendly and efficient.
Room was spacious and had everything we required. Kitchen and laundry facilities were very convenient with a family. Stunning view over the harbour, well worth paying extra for a harbourview room. Location was fantastic. The service from all staff was excellent. Our room was serviced daily and we were given extra towels when the maid noticed our large family. She checked that we were happy and if there was anything else we required.
We tried the breakfast at the hotel which was low key and relaxing along with the million dollar view! Check-out was smooth and we were farewelled by all the surrounding staff.
Although the tariff seems pricey, we found it very reasonable when comparing to other accommodation in the area. We will definitely be back.

So. Unlike what many other people have said on here, in my room (Room 1002), there were NO cockroaches. I was scared of booking initially but my boyfriend really wanted a room here so he went ahead and booked it for a romantic night for our anniversary. It's sad that I was fearing coming to this lovely place because of what some people had written.

The staff are really sweet. We even got given a free dessert. The in-room breakfast was so-so, but the dinner was amazing. We had an $100 dinner credit and you can very easily eat for $100 from their lunch/dinner menu.

The bed was very soft, we loved that! There were many pillows. The spa was definitely big enough for two people. I didn't see a hairdryer, not that I looked for it, but I always bring mine so that wasn't a problem, and I'm sure there was one (or the lovely staff would have given one if we had asked).

The layout was nice, and for those who actually would bother to cook, there was a large cheese grater :P hehe.

So basically, lovely hotel, gorgeous views (yep go harbour room, totally worth it).
Gorgeous staff. Absolutely delightful.
It *could* have been flashier if it wanted but the service and the views make up for it.
Seriously though, I am an eastern suburbs princess who scoffs at 5 star accommodation most of the time but this place impressed my boyfriend and I.
I bet most of the people who rag on it live in wooden houses with chipped paint and never shower and probably only rat on it because their filth comes off on the fluffy white robes.

Thanks Quay Grand, you were lovely!!!! :) Room service staff AND reception staff.

The only reason value is 4/5 is because anything can be cheaper xP

This property is in an amazing location and has great views. We were in a one bedroom harbour view room and it was spacious and well fitted out. The full sized refridgerator was a bonus and the washing and drying equipment a bonus.

The fitout of this hotel and condition is more 4 star than 5. The airconditioning in the room was effective but noisy and the bed was just ok - certainly not up to Sheraton, Hyatt and Hilton standard.

The room has windows that open, hoever given the location it is a bit noisy.

The staff were excellent, friendly and quite relaxed. If not for the view I would not recommend this hotel.
