We were really pleased with the 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the harbour room 2204 (22nd floor). We booked it through travelbag and got breakfast included which is worthwhile as Australia is so expensive at the moment for us Brits especially for a family. Apartments are very spacious, wonderful view, great housekeeping and lovely beds. We washed all our clothes and even though Wifi isn't included you can log on in the hotel lobby or restaurant level for free and sometimes get it in the room for free if the signal is ok! The location is excellent for transport but we struggled a bit for any family friendly restaurants in the area as are mostly pubs or close in the evenings as in the CBD. Good old McDonalds very close by and overpriced local food stores. We got pizza from Giovannis in Harrington Street opposite twice, very good pizza but a bit old fashioned inside. The nearest Coles supermarket was in Wynyard station. There is no balcony in the 2 bedroom suites but wonderful large bay windows and fully air conditioned. Our kids loved the space and the pool although it was a bit cold. Overall an excellent stay, but it was pricey. We sat for hours watching the view and the cruise ships and all the activity around the harbour. Would def recommend with harbour view if you can afford it, great for a family.

Room Tip: high floor harbour view room

We stayed here in January with 2 adults and 2 children on 5th floor 2 bedroom with city views. The concierge service was great and the concierge was very helpful with our car, luggage, and general information.
The rooms was great and we were very happy with the accommodation, the only disappointing thing was that there is no information folder, you have to turn on the TV to find information about the Hotel and area.
It is a great base to explore Circular Quay, The Rocks, The Opera House, etc. Our children loved the heated pool as well with amazing views of the harbour and surrounds.
The only negative we can find is that in our stay this is the only place our credit card was used and not long after our credit card was hacked.
The clerk did the credit card, and even though we entered a pin, there clerk requested that we signed the receipt, and then the receipt was added to the pile on the peg with our details for all to see. I did question this, especially in this electronic age, but was told it was fine and normal practice. Only to find a week alter that our credit card had been hacked and we had numerous online transactions booked against it via internet sources. We have since had these reversed but had to cancel our cards, accounts, etc and redo the whole banking affair. We did get the charges reversed but it is not an easy or likeable process to go through.
Overall a great place to stay in an excellent location, we just had hopefully a one off problem and would stay here again but will use a different payment method next time, just to be sure.

Room Tip: If you can afford a room on the harbour side book there.

All the positive reviews on tripadvisor regarding this apartment style hotel are true!! The special family occasion was to celebrate my father's 75th birthday and the two (2) bedroom apartment was a surprise gift from my partner and I. From the moment we pulled back the blinds we were spellbound by our 20th floor view taking in both the Harbour Bridge & Opera House. The enormous bay window provides a panoramic view that no other Harbour front five (5) star hotel is able to offer. It is worth checking in here just for that view! We then received a complimentary bottle of champagne and a birthday card addressed to my Dad, nice touch! The reception staff were fantastic and accomodated our request for a higher level apartment. The apartment itself was spectacularly clean, spacious and well maintained. The decor is not opulent but it doesn't matter at all, it is well above average for an apartment. Noting that the view was so spectacular we decided to order off the room service menu. The menu was exceptionally well priced!!! I ordered a medium steak. It was huge, tender and cooked to perfection. You do not need to leave this apartment to eat, particularly when eating our in Sydney can be so expensive. Everyone loved their meal. Fantastic pool deck with amazing views. We can't thank Quay West Suites enough for making our stay an experience that none of us will forget. Worth every cent!

Room Tip: The two (2) bedroom apartments offer the best Harbour Bridge & Opera House bay window views. Roo...

Our family of five stayed in a 2 bedroom harbour view unit for 3 nights. The views were incredible and the location in the Rocks was great. The room was fine and clean but furnishings and carpet were very outdated. Adequate, but nothing special - especially for the price. Our biggest problem with the hotel was the lack of wifi. In addition to charging for it, it did not work and was very frustrating to try to connect to. If traveling from overseas, this is particularly problematic as you incur big roaming charges if you use your own data plan. I would definitely check with the hotel that they have rectified the problem and/or changed providers before considering staying there again.

Thank you 'safchicag0' for your response. I am glad to hear that your stay in Sydney was enjoyable and would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the short period the hotel did not have wireless Internet. Unfortunately this was a much larger issue than anticipated and can assure you that all possible solutions were being acted on 'behind the scenes' as quickly as we could. I do hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to Quay West Suites in the near future.

Stayed for 2 nights with my wife while visiting Sydney on holiday, staff were very friendly and welcoming, helpful with all our bags, etc. The best room we could get was on 12th floor so unlike all the other reviews saying they had a great view all we got to see was some other buildings at a low level which was disappointing. However the room we got was very spacious and quite clean, had its own washing machine and dryer which was helpful after traveling for a few weeks, bed was like sleeping on a cloud which was great to be able to get a couple of good nights sleep away from home comforts.

We were driving and had our own car so we used the car park which is valet only at a cost of $49 per night, quite steep - most of the other hotels we have stayed at in the past charge $25-30 a night even in the middle of a city.

Location of this Hotel is excellent in the heart of The Rocks, a historic area of Sydney, we had lunch at Fort Dennison (which is a must do btw) and because of the location of the Hotel we were able to simply walk down and catch a ferry or water taxi out to the island.

All in all nice hotel in a great location, not ideal if you have your own car and want a guaranteed view of the Opera House and Harbor Bridge.

Thank you Matthew H for your response, it sounds like a lovely time in Sydney! Fort Dennison is definitely a fantastic spot to go for lunch. Regarding the views of the room, views of Sydney Harbour are guaranteed when booking either a 1 Bedroom Harbour View or a 2 Bedroom Harbour View. By the looks of your photos, unfortunately a City View room was booked and so the views do not include the Sydney Harbour. We would love to welcome you back in the near future to experience our Harbour View rooms which overlook from Sydney Harbour Bridge right over to the North Heads including the Sydney Opera House.

Kind regards,
