My wife, daughter are currently staying in the mantra Sydney, over for the Carols in the Domain and a bit of shopping. For this, it is a sensational location, just 5 minutes to the domain and in the heart of shopping district also a short walk to circular quay. The room is an apartment style with a separate bedroom and a sofa bed for my daughter, kitchen facilities, lounge, Good comfortable bed and clean well maintained facilities. While we went out for breakfast the hotel does offer a good cafe and a good cup of coffee. For us, it's all about the location. Can recommend for a short stay in Sydney.

I had business at Circular Quay, and this hotel is only a short walk away (and a pleasant one at that). A la carte breakfast, so no need to pay exhorbidant prices for food you can't stomach every day for breakfast. Nice apartment style rooms, so plenty of space.

We chose Mantra because of its location, unfortunately that was the ONLY plus point the hotel had. When you enter the building you will be taken aback by its interiors which are nothing to talk about. Rooms and the lifts are even pathetic. The lifts wont work with those out dates cards and the rooms aren't cleaned as they should be. The hotel is extremely expensive and they have different rate for different days (even when you go for bulk booking). Some of the staff memebers are arrogant (I dont know why, for god sake you aren't employed with Trump or Hilton) and you are charged for even for breathing within their compunds. Inspite of so many negatives it some how manages to attract lot many tourists, courtsey the location. I would say may be look for an alternative before zeroing on this.

We spent 2 nights at the Mantra in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was of a good size, good living space and the bedrooms sufficient. The mattresses however were poor and need replacing (was like sleeping on a fold out sofa, you are continuously rolling into middle of bed!). The bathroom has no bath which is no big deal, however if traveling with small children it is a bonus. The bathroom was very small and only really big enough for 1 person at a time.

The customer service could be improved. Not overly welcoming and helpful. Had to ask 3 times for fresh towels as our room had not been serviced - not a big deal but it is the little things that you remember.

The cafe downstairs makes nice coffee and light meals.

We would encourage the management to conduct staff interviews away from the public - we sat adjacent to an interview conducted by a loud male manager whilst eating lunch.

Overall, we would stay here again as it is a great location but only with a good nightly rate.

Room Tip: Is on George St so try to stay on a higher level - level 8 or higher.

I've stayed here a number of times, but due to the popularity it's often booked out or priced beyond my budget when I visit Sydney. This time, it was just the right amount and I was able to book.

As always, the rooms are clean, comfortable and inviting. Unlike other places I've stayed in Sydney, there were no scuff marks on walls or scorch marks on the carpet, and everything worked as it should. The lighting in the rooms is interesting to say the least, as there are any number of combinations to brighten the room, but working out the sequence of switches to get the room dark can take a while.

My only complaint is that the shower does not have a large enough lip on it to prevent water from seeping out on to the bathroom floor, effectively soaking the bath mat and making it very slippery. Really, there needs to be some larger, deeper lip, or a metal barrier of some sort to prevent this from happening.

Otherwise, I was very happy as always!

Going the other side of the world, we really were relying on our travel agent to pick us a hotel in Sydney, for location, quality of hotel etc. After 22 plus hr flight, a good sleep, we woke to wonder where the heck in Sydney we were! after a few hesitant steps around the near streets, we were gob smacked to see the fabulous sight of Sydney harbour bridge, Opera house, Darling harbour all with in 10 mins away ! Oh, & when we did finally spend some time at the Mantra hotel, we were not disappionted at all, room was spacious, clean, hotel staff very helpful, a lovely swimming pool, lounge, bbq, on roof of Mantra, with fantastic views.

Ideal location 5 minutes walk to Circular Quay, close to Skytower & Darling Harbour. We stayed on the 13th floor so there was hardly any noise from outside. The rooms was a bit small but well fitted. The staff was really helpfull at all times. The onlybad point was the $25 charge for WIFI, although free at the lobby (obviuosly the best option). I would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: Choose a room in the upper levels, George street is a really busy road
