After an appalling stay this time last year, and complaining via Trip Advisor, the hotel responded at the time, and specifically asked me to inform them when staying again. The concern last year was (extremely loud) noise from the function rooms on level 1, when our room was directly above on level 2.

On this occasion, I was given a room on Level 10, fantastic view of the Harbour Bridge (and other parts of the harbour), and PERFECT PEACE.

As usual, the breakfasts were fine, the location is superb, and once again it has regained its place as my favourite hotel in Sydney

Room Tip: Always ask for a room on a higher floor. Some have good views of the harbour.

Dear Big Dogz S,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent stay at the Sir Stamford.

I am glad that this stay was much better than your previous stay with us. You have mentioned about your room on the 10th floor with its wonderful view. We also have fantastically large rooms on the third floor that offer a large lounge for our guests to relax or have quiet meetings.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Kind regards

Very nice older style small hotel. We arrived early morning expecting to be told to wait until the afternoon for a room, but we're told it would only be an hour or so. The room was very spacious with a balcony looking out over circular quay. The hotel is less than 5 mins walk from the opera house and circular quay. Breakfast was of an excellent standard. Staff were very helpful.

Considering Sydney is my home city and I have stayed in so many hotels down the years, I am now very much regretting the fact that I have not stayed at the Sir Stanford before.
The rooms are extremely roomy with a lovely aspect. The location is excellent, just a short stroll down the road to the Opera House and opposite the park and the staff were great. I even had breakfast in bed which i havent done in years and it was scrumptious. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Sydney. You will not regret it. I will be back.

Dear ChristianS76,

Sometimes the best kept secrets are so close and it turns out you discovered one at the Sir Stamford.
This Hotel is perfect for a night away in the city especially if you are attending a show, concert or simply to go shopping. The Opera House offers a great summer programme and our location is just perfect for this.
Next time you stay be sure to book one of our packages and enjoy High Tea in The Bar.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Hotel.

My friend and I just had 3 wonderful nights in Sydney, this is a perfect hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spotless and our large king single beds were so comfortable. We had a view of the wharf from our window/balcony and could see a different cruise ship arrive each day.We loved the wombat in the lobby reading his little Christmas story and eating his Coco pops in the morning. The location is a stones throw from the major bus/train/ferry terminal at Circular Quay, its very very close to the Opera House, and the Opera Bar where we enjoyed a drink each day (and night), its an easy walk to the Rocks. It was just a very pleasant, easy place to stay at.Will def stay here again.

Room Tip: We had the king single superior room which was excellent

Derar KLM3199,

Thank you for taking the time to write such lovely feedback about your recent stay at the Hotel.

Our twin rooms (offering 2 double beds) are very spacious. Our rooms all offer something different whether you are situated on the lower floors or the higher floors, on the Macquarie Street side overlooking the Gardens or the Phillips Street side with glimpses of Circular Quay.
Being the Boutique Hotel that we are, our most important features are found inside the Hotel. We offer a home away from home with exceptional service from our staff. Our rooms are spacious and our Dining room and Bar offer you many options.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Hotel in the near future.

My wife, three adult children, and two son-in-laws stayed at the Sir Stamford last weekend for two nights. We initially planned to stay for one night and chose the Sir Stamford based on Trip Advisor ratings and the location in relation to the Sydney Opera House and Sydney bridge. As it turned out, our flight back to the US was cancelled, so we were forced to stay an extra night. We had already been impressed by the friendly helpful staff at the Sir Stamford (as a matter of fact, they had kept the restaurant open specifically for us as our flight had arrived later in the evening), but we came to appreciate them even more as we unraveled the complications associated with a cancelled flight for seven people. The Sir Stamford staff, were so supportive that it felt like they were helping a good friend or family member out. For example, there wasn't a table large enough for all us available in their bar/lunch area, so they opened a private room and served us there. The location of the Sir Stamford turned out to be every bit as perfect as we thought and the guest rooms, common areas, restaurants, and food exceeded our expectations for the price.

We had a lovely 2 night stay here. The hotel is well located, just 5 minutes walk from the bustle of Circular Quay and an easy 10 minute walk to The Rocks or the shopping in the city centre.
Our room was very spacious with a comfortable king bed, the bathroom had plenty of room for 2 with double sink and separate bath & shower. The hotel is in a heritage building and has been styled to reflect this with period furniture and paintings. We ate in both the bar and the restaurant and enjoyed both experiences. Perhaps the only downsides were that as our room faced the previously mentioned 'bustle of Circular Quay' there was some noise of traffic and that service in the bar was a little slow. All the staff we dealt with were lovely.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the Botanic Gardens for a little less traffic noise.

Excellent central location, we stayed 2 nights and found everything within easy walking distance. Rooms are very large and rather old fashioned but comfortable. Service was generally good but the woman staffing the breakfast dining was abrupt and unfriendly and the breakfast buffet limited and not in the league of the Westin or Hilton but at a similar price. The cost of wifi access is a disgrace, considering many back packer hostels advertise they offer free wifi you would wonder why hotels like the Stamford could not do the same.
