Except for the expensive internet connection (66 $ for four days) I have only good things to say about this hotel. My room was on the 9th floor, it was big for one person, with plenty of space for luggage, a table and armchair. It was clean and comfortable. It's also a 10/15-minute walking from the Circular Quay and Opera House, as well as from the centre and very close to the Botanic Garden.

Stayed over as was on a 2 day conference with 8am start on 2nd day in a nearby 5 star with crazy prices.

Literally just wanted to sleep and shower in morning and this was perfect. Room reminiscent of a small student quarters in a university. (Had usual hotel Tv & fridge too.)

There was a really noisy boiler room beside my room which thank fully cut off at midnight.

Would stay again if needed handy city self funded business stop again.

This hotel is a little out of the way and probably not somewhere I would like to walk to at night by myself, but it was fantastic. The room was beautiful, with all the facilities we needed as well as a microwave and sink.

The location is great for shopping with David Jones, Myer and Pitt St Mall a few minutes walk away. It was also good for Circular Quay for us, a bit of a walk but the closest we could get for a decent price.

The hotel was extremely cheap at $122 for a Saturday night, overall would definitely recommend.

I stayed here for 4 nights from 25 June. Met up with cousins who stayed there also. Reception staff very friendly and very accommodating sas asked that we could be on the same floor. Check in excellent and the staff very very helpful. Room was more than adequate, separate bathroom was great and shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. It was all i needed as days and evenings were spent out. Bed firm but comfy and pillows were great.Room very clean and tidy. Heating was good also. Restaurant on PG level was good with a cheap steak for $10 and it was very tender and yummy. Thai Restaurant, ordered off the menu and meal was excellent. Breakfast ok, wouldnt rush to have it again, as it was either continental or full breakfast, I just wanted eggs and they wouldnt do it. I would stay there again, as very central to everything. Also you get a discount on drinks in the club as a guest of Travelodge. Only one downside was we had noisy ladies in the room next door and they didnt seem to care about the noise they made at whatever time of the night. BUT a phone call down to reception sorted them out pretty quick.

I have stayed in the hotel for 6 nights in late June. The hotel is on a quiet street so you can enjoy quiet stay. The room size is adequate and the room is clean. The attractions like Circular Quay and China Town are within the walking distance, though it takes some 15 minutes to reach there.

There are two cafes nearly where you can have your breakfast. Two convenient stores are just on the same street. But if you want to locate a supermarket, there is Coles on the King Street and it takes some 10 minutes walk to reach there. There is a microwave in the room so we can make our breakfast.

It would be added-value if we can have free WIFI in hotel room.

My husband and I stayed at the Travelodge Phillip Street for three nights before flying back to Canada. I was quite satisfied.

Although the room was small, everything was very new and modern and the price of the room was quite reasonable (by Sydney standards - hotels in Sydney are very expensive). The room we had did not face outside but rather faced an indoor courtyard, so the room was very quiet. The rooms also have a mini fridge, microwave, and kettle, which was handy.

The main downside for us was that only had a double sized bed (I believe you also have the option of two twin beds). We have a queen sized bed at home, so the double bed was a bit small for us (particularly for my husband who is quite tall). The bed was also a bit hard for my liking, but not enough to keep me from sleeping.

Overall, I would say it is a very good budget hotel and I am happy with our choice. Just keep in mind that if you are a couple used to a queen or king-sized bed, you may be a little uncomfortable.

Note: I would not particularly recommend the Bistro on Phillip restaurant attached to the hotel. We only ate their once (for supper). Although the prices were good, it seemed like all the food was prepared in advance and sat for too long.

Stayed for 5 nights at the end of June. Check in was smooth and simple , staff were extremely helpful . We stayed on the 8th floor overlooking the courtyard. The room itself was clean and tidy. Their is a small kitchenette that includes a kettle, tea and coffee supplies and a microwave. Room was quiet and the only noise we heard was from ignorant guest talking loudly in the hall as they came in late. This was sorted out promptly by management.
below the Travelodge is the NSW leagues club which has a bar and 2 Restaurants. Friendly staff and good value for money.
Location was fantastic for us as we had events to attend at the Opera house and Town Hall. An easy walk to the rocks , Darling Harbour, circular key and the botanical gardens.
Overall an enjoyable stay and would stay here again.
