This hotel is in a great area, close walking distance to everything. I was disappointed having to pay in full on my arrival, plus a bond of $50, when I was specifically told prior to booking that I would not have to pay until the day of departure (This was the reason I booked with the hotel in the first place due to the money not being taken until departure day) - this meant we had very little spending money for 3 days, as I was not getting paid until the day before checkout.
The room is quite small, however it fit us 3 (12 adults and 1 child) fine as we were out most of the day. The staff were very helpful when my 5 year old locked us out of the bathroom and remedied the situation very quickly. As the same for an exposed power point in our room this was fixed immediately the next morning. Also, wifi was expensive we thought, and should be free.

Dear Valued Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to post your review after your recent stay at Travelodge Sydney.
I am sorry if there was some confusion in regards to payment of your accommodation, while we don’t require payment on arrival, we do need to do a pre-authorisation on a credit card or receive payment in full to secure the accommodation which is common practice in hotels throughout Australia.
I am delighted however that you enjoyed your stay with us and found the team to be helpful and quick to action any requests.
Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Travelodge Sydney again in the future.
Best regards

Location is good, walking distance to Hyde Park, China Town etc. Easy to catch
Light Rail,Train or Bus from CBD to most of the attractions. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean, the building is siting a bit back from the main traffic, it was quite and we had good sleeps. Hot water facility wasn't good enough, it took bit long to wait for the hot water came out at the first night. Nice place to stay in Sydney.

you cannot fault this lodge for service and convenience for a quick cheap stay in cbd area . however some travellers might not like the run down locality which would be noisy at busy times and the lack of adjacent parking would put me off staying alone

Hotel was very adequate for a weekend stay. Kitchenette and tea/coffee facility was very helpful. The view was lovely and furnishings and beds were comfortable.
Free wifi would be appreciated. This is standard in most hotels now and would be the only thing stopping me from booking here again.
Great location for transport links and walking distance to parks, restaurants, shopping.
Breakfast buffet was generous and varied.

At first glance the Travelodge wasn't impressive - spartan decor, tiny bathroom, dark halls - but in the course of our 4-night stay we realized it was a great deal. The fridge, microwave, and dishes saved us a bundle on meals. The room was clean and the concierge service at the front desk was friendly, honest, and reliable. The plumbing was minimal but everything worked. Worst shortcoming was lack of a shower pan in the bathroom - I expected the bathroom floor to flood, but it did not. Oh yes, the bed was really comfortable, which is not to be discounted after a 15 hour flight from L.A.

Room Tip: We had a 3rd floor inside room, which was OK but probably not as nice as those on higher floors. But...

I stayed here as part of a tour group. I had a king room to myself on the top floor. The furnishings are simple but clean and modern. The bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and there was a sink, fridge, and microwave in the foyer. Nothing fancy but it was housekeeping kept it clean and neat. As a bonus there was a bit of a view from the window.

The hotel seems to cater to tour groups. There were several there. This made things a little difficult when two groups (or more!) were trying to use the elevator at the same time. The elevators were actually my only real problem with the place. It was one of those where you needed to swipe your key to access your floor. But only your floor. Which meant when groups got on the elevator, it was a slow process for each person to swipe their key if they were staying on different floors. Kind of a pain.

Location was good. I made a quick trip to Darling Harbor one night, and it was a safe and pleasant walk. Walked into the main shopping area downtown on one day, and even walked down to the Opera House, which took about 45 minutes but was a very pleasant walk. The hotel is very close to the Anzac Memorial and Hyde Park, and there are lots of convenience store and restaurant options in the immediate area.

Breakfast was simple but solid. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. If I could land a good deal, I would be happy to stay here on my own.
