Picked this hotel on location and the Rydges name which once meant good quality and value for money. Cost nearly $400.00 for what is a very basic hotel, with a very run-down feel. Bathroom cleanliness was only moderate (hair in the basin, definitely not mine!).

Paul W, it’s disappointing to hear on this occasion we haven’t met your expectations. This is definitely not our usual stand of service. We have addressed your comments to ensure your next experience is a more favourable one

We stayed here for our business trip for 3 nights. The location was just perfect to get around Sydney CBD. There are many kinds of restaurants to choose and the mall is very near if you love shopping! We walked from the hotel to Sydney harbour bridge and Opera house about 15-20 minutes. The room was old style but clean. The breakfast was great. I would recommend this hotel for those who want to stay in the city of Sydney.

Good central location, quiet rooms - and the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever experienced. Ideal for a quiet weekend, with an easy walk to Darling Harbour or into the CBD and shops. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Can't comment on the restaurant as we didn't eat in the hotel but did stop for a drink in the bar, which was pleasant and not too noisy.

This hotel is average, rooms are a bit tired and it needs a bit of a renovation. The room had an opening window which was wonderful. The staff were very responsive and efficient. We only stayed one night and had a lovely sleep on the divine beds. The room faced an office building so we had a dreadful view but we were so tired and it was only for one night. Room service food was fabulous and tasty and reasonably priced. Toiletries were lovely and plentiful and the check in was quick, easy and although i was grumpy and tired the staff member - Axe was lovely to us. In the morning the staff helped me with my bag and caught us a cab in short order and was very polite and courteous.

I spent a night here for a work trip and the room rate was close to $400 a night. I couldn't believe how tired and run down this hotel was. The quality of the room was more akin to a cheap motel that you would expect to cost under $100 a night.

Also if you are in town for work it is at the wrong end of town and this area is quite rough at night.

The only plus was the bed....nice and comfy with quality linen.

Definitely do not recommend.

Timmymv, it’s very disappointing to read such a review. We are rated as a 4.5 star establishment due to the facilities we provide and the quality of our services.

Our locations convenience obviously depends on the location of your office.

It’s a shame your experience couldn’t have been better.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in October and had a wonderful time. We had never stayed in Sydney before and had no idea where to stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is in a perfect location to shops etc. The room was clean and spacious. We loved our stay and will be staying again next time we are in Sydney.

We are currently here at Rydges World Square. We booked 3 weeks ago. A room for two adults and a 9 year old. We have stayed at Rydges just about everywhere in the world they have a hotel. I'm a Priority program member, and we're generally big fans. But....

When we checked in, found it very strange there's only one bed. Asking at the front counter suggests they assume if you book one room for 3 people all those people will be sharing a bed!

Offered a trundle bed to be put in the room for an additional $80 a night. No thanks! Reduced to $50 after s lot of complaining so we took it.

Really leaves a bad taste in your mouth though. Bad start to the 3 night stay.

Room Tip: Room 1211 is huge! Strange though, as there's only about 4 floors of hotel above ground. We...

We do have various room types available to accommodate for multiple guests. Unfortunately on this occasion it sounds like there was a miscommunication when the reservation was made, as to how many beds were needed. As mentioned we do have a charge for extra bedding at $80 per night.
