We only managed to walk half of the manly scenic walk as parts of the walk was cordoned off due to risk of bushfires, which was a pity. The walk was lovely and we spotted many wild rabbits, lizards and birds and it was an enjoyable experience.

We took the ferry from the Quay to Manly after lunch. Spent some time at Manly beach and then went on the hike. Note that once you get off the ferry, the beach and the walk are in different directions. It took us around five hours to finish the full walk. The walk goes through some nice landscape, great views and at one point you get views of even the harbor bridge, even though a tad distant. Some parts of the walk are not accessible at high tide, but the detours are very clearly marked. For a while the walk goes through neighborhoods and you can see how locals stay and envy the views through their living rooms! Once at Spit Bridge, you will have to take the stairs to get on the bridge and cross the bridge to take a bus back to CBD. The Zone 1+2 card worked for the bus we took back. If you need a break from hectic Sydney city tours, this is a great way to spend the day.

I stayed from Spit Bridge (got there by bus) and finished in Manly beach, which is an excellent place to chill. Spotted a few big lizards along the way, which was really nice. Took the ferry back to the center of the city - which was really lovely

This is an easy - medium walk. Mostly easy but halfway through there are a few stairs. There are some pretty breathtaking views and it is a nice way to 'escape' the city for the afternoon. The walk took us about 3 hrs including scenic breaks. I'd recommend adding this to your sydney itinerary.

You need walking shoes and at least a couple bottles of water.

We started at the Spitt Bridge and walked to Manly. I think this is a the better way.

A nice stroll along the water with many good photo opportunities. Thought the penguin crossing signs were a kick. We turned around at the nature preserve entrance due to the fire warning, but it was a nice walk.
